Scoring Guide Symbols used by scorers
This reference guide is to help Stockholm Cricket Club scorers with a consistent approach when scoring matches. The ECB ACO should be used as the final reference when in doubt about what symbol should be used and how.

6 Valid Delivery - Boundary 6
No Ball – Batsmen do not run
No Ball – Striker does not hit the ball, batsmen run.
No Ball – Striker does not hit the ball, ball crosses boundary No Ball – Striker hits the ball with his bat and batsmen run
No Ball – Striker hits the ball with his bat and the ball crosses the boundary □ A free hit – No Ball (same rules as per No Balls)
Wide Ball - Batsmen do not run
Wide Ball – Batsmen run
Wide Ball – Ball crosses the boundary or batsmen complete 4 runs Wide Ball – Striker is out stumped or hit wicket
Umpire Signal Symbol Situation Valid Delivery – Striker does not play the ball and the batsmen run
Valid Delivery – Striker does not play the ball and the ball crosses the boundary Valid Delivery - Striker attempts to play the ball and the batsmen run
Valid Delivery – Striker attempts to play the ball and the batsmen run
W Valid Delivery – Wicket falls and is credited to the bowler R Run Out
_ Valid Delivery - Batsmen run one or more runs short and (underscore) change ends
P Penalty Runs (to batting side)
P Penalty Runs (to bowling side)
