Yvan formed his Dustaphonics project in London in 2008, when American actress Tura Satana (Russ Meyer's Faster Pussy Cat Kill Kill) asked him to create songs for his next film. For the best result, Serrano invited 4 young singers who had never played Rock N Roll on stage or in the studio to be front ladies. Aina was in the London hip- hop scene. Kay was in London's underground jazz scene. Et voilà, by grouping and channeling the talents of each one, the Dustaphonics machine created its effect and goes through its merry way for 10 years, thanks to this specific vision of Serrano, forming an interchangeable 4 pieces line up with members from a team of talented and charming singers and outstanding musicians: Bruce Brand, Dan Whaley, Michael Jablonka, Ludo Nagy, Mike Thorne, Pablo Rodas not to mention Yvan Serrano. From time to time, Dustaphonics accompanies the Blues Brothers /Ghosts Busters actor Dan Aykroyd on stage at his private parties in London where he sings Chicago Blues / Blues Brothers classics. Opening also for legends like Martha Reeves & The Vandellas (Motown Records) The Sonics, Wanda Jackson, The Pretty Things, Sam Gopal, Fleshtones, Fuzztones, Kid Congo, James Hunter, Gallon Drunk, Bellrays, Jim Jones Revue, Barrence Whitfield, Sanseverino, etc.. The Dirty Water Club started in October 1996 in the Tufnell Park neighbourhood of north London, at a venue called The Boston. The club's name is derived from The Standells' 1966 hit 'Dirty Water' which glorifies the US city of Boston, Massachusetts. Past performers have included The White Stripes (voted by Q Magazine as one of the top 10 gigs of all time, Mojo one of the top 30 and Kerrang one of the top 100!), The Gories, Country Teasers, Black Lips, NOBUNNY, Kid Congo Powers, The Fleshtones, Billy Childish, Radio Birdman, The Dirtbombs, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, The 5.6.7.8's, The Horrors and The Brian Jonestown Massacre to name just a few. The club has also seen some original '60s performers, such as The Monks, ? and the Mysterians, Kim Fowley, Sky Saxon, GONN, Michael Davis of the MC5 and more grace its stage.
