Tradebe’s story began in 1983 - with the acquisition of Fragsa, a company which specialized in the recy- cling of metals. A little later, we moved into the area of industrial services, when we obtained a contract to work with the Repsol refinery, providing tank cleaning services. In 1992, we expanded beyond industrial services to the onsite service arena through the management of a permanent plant in the Port of Barcelona (Ecoimsa), where we began to manage waste. Currently, we manage more than 60 facilities worldwide.

Acquisition of Fragsa, which since 1975 had been working in the management and recycling of out-of-service vehicles using processes for the fragmentation and separation of metals. 1983 Ecoimsa obtains authorization for the collection of hydrocarbon waste from ships 1989 (Marpol).

Acquisition of Fragnor, a fragmentation plant located in Amorebieta (Vizcaya). 1990

Our commitment is to sustainable waste mana- gement; with the priority towards the recycling and recovery of as much as we can from waste, (the solvents, fuels, oils, metals, sludges which we use to make alternative fuels, etc). We provide collection, treatment, recovery, transfer, categorization and/or dispo- sal processes for hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste. We use a wide range of pro- cesses such as physico-chemical, biological and thermal treatments, as well as centrifugation, evaporation, stabilization, distillation, filtration, neutralization and thermal desorption.

Because of our strategic presence in a number of ports in Spain, we are leaders in the manage- ment of ship waste (Marpol) and refinery gene- rated waste.

We also provide integrated solutions for the treatment and elimination of non-hazardous waste such as organic waste and sludge from residential and industrial treatment plants, as well as waste from the construction industry. Our services are complemented by the treatment and remediation of contaminated soil; and other activities such as the decontamination and dis- mantling of out-of-service vehicles, which are finally recycled for the recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

According to data released by ASEGRE (Asso- ciation of Companies Specializing in the Mana- gement of Waste and Special Resources), there has been a cumulated fall of €218m in the sector since 2008.

The main reasons for this situation are to be found in the economic crisis and the subsequent reduction in industrial activity and in the virtual disappearance of the construction industry in SPAIN & FRANCE many areas.

Tradebe covers the cost of sponsoring the children in the project coordinated by Karibu, an NGO aimed at immigrant children in Spain between 8 and 12 years old who are experiencing major economic and social integration problems.
