Plan images can be viewed online or downloaded as PDF or TIFF files. Some plan types listed below do not have a full set of images in SAILIS. In these cases, a list of the plan numbers that are available is given. The following original records have been archived by State Records: Dealings 1 – 362,091 Survey Office Diagram Books Imperial and metric titles See the State Records Research Centre website for opening hours and details on ordering and viewing original records. Other original records are stored by Land Services SA (LSSA) and can be ordered in SAILIS and viewed on the ground floor, 101 Grenfell Street, Adelaide, open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday; turnaround time for orders is 72 hours. Additional search information may be available by visiting the LSSA Information Counter, also on the ground floor. Deposited Plans All Deposited Plans (DPs) are available in SAILIS, including plans being examined prior to their deposit. ‘Board’ copies of DPs up to 9818 are stored with LSSA at their Netley repository. The manual plan journal for DPs below 22585 have been archived with State Records. The originals of completed plans lodged manually prior to Electronic Plan Lodgement (EPL) are stored at the Netley facility. Uncompleted plan originals prior to EPL are stored with LSSA at their Grenfell St office. Community Plans All Community Plans are available in SAILIS, including plans being examined prior to deposit. The originals of the completed plans lodged manually prior to EPL are stored at the Netley facility. Uncompleted plan originals prior to EPL are stored with LSSA at their Grenfell St office. Filed Plans All Filed Plans (FPs), including ULPI (Unique Land Parcel Identification), numbered 100,000 onward, are available in SAILIS. Plans being examined prior to being accepted for filing are also available. If the plan cannot be found in SAILIS, LSSA have manual journals for FPs below 25800. The originals of the completed plans (less than 100,000) lodged manually prior to EPL are stored at the Netley facility. Uncompleted plan originals prior to EPL are stored with LSSA at their Grenfell St office. Strata Plans All Strata Plans are available in SAILIS. The originals of the completed plans are stored at the Netley facility. Uncompleted plan originals are stored with LSSA at their Grenfell St office. Version 8 February 2021 Page 3 of 45 Survey Searching Guide GRO Plans Most of the GRO Plans from 1978 onwards that contain useful land parcel data should be available in SAILIS. Most plans that include an aerial photo (i.e. Heritage and Forestry plans) are not available in SAILIS. GRO Plans prior to 1978 and some of the Forestry plans have been added to SAILIS as requested. If the plan is not in SAILIS, it can be ordered in SAILIS or at the LSSA Information Counter. See Contact details. The originals of GRO plans prior to 1978 are stored with LSSA. See LSSA Contact details. The remainder are stored at the Netley facility except for the recent year plans and some large colour plans, which are with LSSA; they have a set of manual journals. GRO Plans 520 - 612/1979 were transferred to Births Deaths and Marriages Registration Division. LTO A, B & C Plans LTO A, B & C are available in SAILIS, except for a small number of unaccepted plans. Copies of unaccepted plans can be ordered in SAILIS or at the LSSA Information Counter. These plans are associated with search references (e.g. X search) and either dockets, applications or documents; these records are linked in SAILIS through the cross reference facility. The originals of the completed plans are stored at the Netley facility. A paper print of the plan is usually found in the associated document. Tube Plans Tube Plans are available in SAILIS, except for a small number of unaccepted plans. Copies of unaccepted plans can be ordered in SAILIS or at the LSSA Information Counter. References to Tube Plans in the Survey Mark Search are prefixed with 'B' (e.g. Tube plan 25 is shown as B25). These plans are associated with search references (e.g. X search) and either dockets, applications or documents; these records are linked in SAILIS through the cross reference facility. The originals of the completed plans are stored at the Netley facility. A paper print of the plan is usually found in the associated document. Road Plans All Road Plan (RP) images are available in SAILIS together with a cross reference system between the Road Plan (RP or LTO Tracing) number and the earlier Council name and number system that existed prior to the merger of the functions of the Registrar-General and Surveyor-General into one department. The originals of Road Plans below 4500 are rolled paper plans mounted on linen. They are with State Records (Reference GRS 6867/1). There are also copies of the earlier Road Plans made by the LTO on linen and filed as ‘Road Tracings’ at the Netley Repository. Road Plans above 4500 were drafted on linen and film and are filed in ‘Verti-Plan’ cabinets at the Netley facility. A set of mounted copies of these plans were used to note mergers etc. and then microfilmed for public use (available for viewing in the self-help area, ground floor, LSSA). Most of the mounted copies have been destroyed. Backup microfilm aperture cards are filed with the Roads Unit. See Contact details. Version 8 February 2021 Page 4 of 45 Survey Searching Guide The road plans finalised over the years 1849 to 1990 were indexed as RP1 to RP 9097. In 1988 the Common Plan Format was introduced with road plans lodged as Deposited Plans starting at DP 22349. The Roads (Opening and Closing) Act 1932 was repealed and replaced by the Roads (Opening and Closing) Act 1991. Plans lodged under the new Act commenced with DP 34032. Information on the disposition of closed roads can be found in Road Orders associated with each plan. The Roads Unit (see Contact details) keeps scanned images of Road Orders and a database covering later disposals of closed roads. Gazettal dates (i.e. the date of the Government Gazette notice often shown on the Public Maps and also shown on the plan as the confirmation date) are also recorded in this database. This information is also available from the LSSA Information Counter. Preliminary Road Plans (P Plans) contain no survey information are not available in SAILIS. They can be viewed on the Roads Opening & Closing Proposal webpage or inspected at Council Offices. PM Tracings These are plans showing the location of Permanent Survey Marks. PM Tracings 1861 onwards are available on SAILIS. See Section 4 – Permanent Survey Mark (PSM) Records for more information. Rack Plans Rack Plans are used to graphically define larger areas and are often referred to in Government Gazette notices for definition purposes. The name is derived from the fact that they were filed vertically in a rack. Most are compiled and rarely contain survey data. Many of the historical Rack Plans from 1 to 548 have been previously archived or destroyed. The following Rack Plans are available in SAILIS: 426/C, 426/H, 426/J to P, 554/C, 558, 559/1, 559/2, 559/B, 588/1 to 5, 561, 561/A, 561/C, 561/D, 573, 578, 590, 598/1A to 29B, 608, 612, 614/1A to 29A, 619/1 to 8, 623, 628/1 to 15B, 629/17 to 29, 633/1 to 4, 644/20, 644/31 to 38, 664, 669, 686 and 701.

  • Opinion in the Bush Is That They Are T
H Who the Annas, Joannas and Carolines are, no one I suppose knows or cares to know; the… opinion in the bush is that they are the names of those kindly-disposed young ladies who so frequently call on Mr Beddome in the forenoon… by-the-by I fear that something serious has happened to one of them as I see in the Gazette of July 16 the Surveyor-General refers to the ‘west part of Blanche’. (Register, 3 August 1868, page 3c) Habel Landing - On section 62, Hundred of Pyap and named after Wilhelm E. Habel (1856-1926) ‘of Loxton Hut’, who obtained the land grant of section 14B on 31 May 1911. One of the most successful farmers in the district and ‘with a generosity that characterises Germans’: Mr Habel is marking the occasion of his daughter’s marriage in a manner which is causing a great flutter in riverside society. A pine hall has been specially built, capable of seating 80 people and the steamer, Gem, had 20 of Mr Habel’s guests on board last Sunday, all the way from Duttontown [sic], near Kapunda. Loxton’s Hut will be the centre of much rejoicing and merry-making this week. [See Duttonton] Hack Bridge - In 1850, the Register reported the completion of this bridge approximately one kilometre north of Mylor on a road between sections 3325-26, Hundred of Noarlunga. More properly known as the ‘Onkaparinga Bridge’, it was built by Mr Pitman of Adelaide; ‘[it] is now finished and thrown open to the public. It is on the Macclesfield road and is the boldest bridge as to design yet built in the colony.
