Zion Williamson: Why He Should Play Again For Duke Author : Steven Resnick A recent knee injury to Zion Williamson the biggest name in basketball who is not currently playing in the NBA has got experts weighing in on his next move. Which in their opinion is that he needs to sit out the rest of his only year at Duke, yet he shouldn't. What an opportunity for Williamson to play for and learn from Mike Krzyzewski arguably one of the greatest coaches in NCAA history. On Twitter though there's been many polls asking if he needs to shut it down for the remainder of the year so he doesn't risk any further injury. There is little doubt that Williamson is going to get taken with the first pick of the NBA draft. Still the main reason for him to not come back to play again for Duke is for financial reasons. It's the argument that college athletes need to get paid. Yet, according to a recent report Williamson stated regardless of the NBA's one and done rule he'd still have gone to play college basketball. The one and done rule has been a total failure by the NBA because it created an issue that wasn't really one. Now there are way too many young players who have left school early have not found success. It's the main reason the NBA Draft has been less than stellar. 1 / 2 Names like Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Marquis Teague, Archie Goodwin, Nerlens Noel, Trey Lyles, Malik Monk, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Bennett, Frank Jackson, Harry Giles, Brandon Ingram, Justise Winslow, Tyus Jones, Marquese Chriss, Stanley Johnson, Aaron Gordon, Noah Vonleh, and Ben McLemore. Even the ones who have found tremendous success have flaws. One of the most glaring examples of this is Philadelphia 76ers Ben Simmons. He struggles with shooting the basketball, he's 0-14 from the three-point line for his career, shoots 57.1 percent from the free throw line, from 10-16 feet he shoots 29.9 percent and from 16 feet to the three-point line 29.3 percent. For Williamson, even though he's gifted with incredible athleticism developing the footwork down in the post is going to become key for his success in the NBA. What better way to do that by playing 28 minutes a night and developing those skills and not sitting on the bench in foul trouble at the NBA level. No NBA team is going to send the first overall pick to the G-League to develop their skills, and unfortunately for Williamson, no matter what he does he's going to draw media attention. Cobb With the 2014 NBA Summer League now in the books, here’s a look back at the five top prospects that stood out in Las Vegas. 1.) Giannis Antetokounmpo(SF, Milwaukee Bucks) - 'The Greek Freak' as he has been dubbed since he was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2014 NBA Draft, was the most impressive prospect in the Las Vegas Summer League. He has grown two inches from the time he was drafted, from 6'9 ft to 6'11 ft, which gives him the ability to defend multiple positions and it also makes it impossible for perimeter players to score on him. He also showed off his improving offensive skills. Antekokoumpo showcased very good ball handling skills and at stages he was running the offense from the point. He showed off a quality jump shot which stopped opposing defenders from sagging off him, showing that he can become the complete offensive package with his ability already to drive to the lane. A bright future lies ahead for 'the Greek Freak'. 2.) Andrew Wiggins (SG, Cleveland Cavaliers) - On the night Andrew Wiggins made his début for the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James announced he was returning home to play for the Cavs. Taking some of the luster off the top overall pick’s debut, as all the attention was on LeBron returning to Cleveland. Bizarrely, Wiggins began by shooting and missing multiple three-point attempts, currently his biggest weakness in his game, but as his first game and the Summer League progressed, Wiggins showed off his great strength, which is his athleticism and mid-range game.

2019-20 PRESEASON MEDIA GUIDE VLADE DIVAC GENERAL MANAGER Vlade Divac enters his sixth season at the Kings, his fifth as General Manager. He joined the Kings on March 3, 2015 as the team’s vice president of basketball and franchise operations and was named General Manager on August 31, 2015. One of the most respected and revered individuals in franchise history, Divac returns to Sacramento having spent more than a decade serving the NBA and international sporting communities with the same distinction that solidified his reputation as a consummate teammate, player, humanitarian and overall difference-maker on and off the basketball court. Divac has served in a variety of administrative and leadership roles since retiring from professional basketball in 2007. In addition to his philanthropic efforts focused on helping children in his native country and other reaches of the globe, he was named President of the Serbian Olympic Committee in 2009. Under his guidance, Serbian athletes have enjoyed greater success and the country is experiencing a resurgence on the international stage. In 16 NBA campaigns with Los Angeles, Charlotte and Sacramento, Divac averaged 11.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game over 1,134 contests. He is only one of four players in league annals to accrue at least 13,000 points, 9,000 rebounds, 3,000 assists, 1,200 steals and 1,600 blocked shots, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon and Kevin Garnett with that distinction. His six seasons in a Kings uniform marked the most successful period in team history, including a league-high 61 wins in 2001-02 and a trip to the Western Conference Finals.
