The new building of the nursing home Wier in Ebnat-Kappel is a hybrid construction. All the wood used comes from the surrounding communities of Ebnat-Kappel. This required good coordination.
Extension and Addition of the School Building Gallenbüel, Aeugst am Albis ZH

Day care center Ilgen, Zürich-Hottingen
The new day care centre of the Ilgen school complex is located in idyllic surroundings: trees stand around the building designed by the architects Wolfgang Rossbauer and Susanne Triller; a city grove in which the day care centre blends harmoniously with the wooden facade.
Industrial Hall Estoppey, Châtel-St-Denis
The municipality and Estoppey-Reber AG had the industrial hall in Châtel-St-Denis in the canton of Fribourg renovated. The roof was insulated and reinforced to withstand the heavy snow loads in the future.

The new building RFSM, Fribourg
The new four-storey building for the RFSM is the first timber hospital in Switzerland. Timbatec provided all timber engeneering services for this Minergie-P building and thus contributes to the safety of the building.
Renovation of Theater Nuithonie, Villars-sur-Glâne
With its 590 seats, Theater Nuthonie is part of the cultural scene of Canton Fribourg. As the glued joints on the important beams slowly dissolved, those responsible commissioned a condition analysis. Under the direction of Timbatec, the cultural venue was renovated.
Gfellerhof, Stettbach ZH
At the Gfellerhof in Stettbach near Zurich a fodder store and a shed were each replaced by a larger structure. In addition, the existing barn was statically reinforced.
Renovation and new construction of school building, Villars-sur-Glâne
In Villars-sûr-Glâne, two school buildings were renovated and the gymnasium and the wooden connecting wing were rebuilt - while the school was running. For everyone involved, this meant planning the work very carefully.
Renovation and extension of sports centre, Gstaad
Gstaad has made its sports centre fit for the future. In addition to the construction of a wellness area, the wooden supporting structure of the indoor swimming pool was comprehensively renovated. Timbatec analysed its condition and defined the renovation measures.
New building Simmental Arena, Zweisimmen
The Simmental Arena, the new multifunctional hall in Zweisimmen, is largely made of Swiss wood. And it gets by without any supports inside. The roof is supported by ten 38-metre-long arch trusses.

The two new buildings on the Lange Heid school site in Münchenstein BL are dominated by wood: apart from the building cores, the two school buildings are largely made of the natural building material.
School Complex Chrüzacher, Bassersdorf
At the initiative of Timbatec, the new school complex in Bassersdorf produced even more timber than planned. Originally, only the walls of the gym were to be made of timber, but the roof of concrete. Timbatec also proposed to build the roof in timber construction in order to save costs.

Extension of Werkhof, Gurmels
The municipality of Gurmels in the Freiburg lake district recently opened a new factory yard hall. The timber construction measures 28 by 21 meters and can be almost completely opened on one side - a challenge for Timbatec's timber construction engineers in terms of building stiffening.
Buchholz Playground, Zürich
The Buchholz playground in Zurich Witikon was completely rebuilt this year. For the planning, Timbatec engineers measured the existing site and its foundations with a 3D measuring device.
The Werkhof of the A16 motorway, Loveresse BE
Highest precision was required at the Werkhof of the A16 motorway in Loveresse in the Bernese Jura. Due to the enormous mass of the 150 meter long hall, the timber construction elements had to fit exactly.
Timber Platform near Basel Elephant Park, Basel
From here you have an overview of the new savannah landscape of the elephants at Basel Zoo. The timber platform is slightly elevated and allows a view of almost the entire elephant enclosure. Since mid-March 2017, the animals have had much more room to move.
Extension Lämmerenhütte, Gemmi
At the end of 2016, the Lämmerenhütte of the Swiss Alpine Club SAC was extended by five meters. The requirements of the construction project were demanding. The hut must be able to bear enormous snow loads and withstand violent winds. In addition, all the building material had to be flown to the hut by helicopter.
New Construction Wühribrücke, Horrenbach-Buchen
The new timber bridge connects the two Bernese villages of Horrenbach-Buchen and Teuffenthal near Thun and replaces an old concrete bridge. The new crossing is capable of carrying loads of up to 32 tons.
Extension of the Allmend School Complex, Oberengstringen
The new Allmend school complex in Oberengstringen not only offers urgently needed classrooms, but also new group rooms that allow contemporary forms of teaching. The new school building was built as a hybrid of concrete and timber.
Addition to a Primary School, Köniz
Köniz is growing oversized. In no municipality around Bern has the population grown more in recent years than in Köniz - and it is getting younger and younger. Two existing school buildings were therefore each extended by one timber floor.

New Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge over the Old Aare, Lyss
One of the numerous bridges in Lyss in the Bernese Seeland had to be replaced urgently. The municipality of Lyss took this as an opportunity to make the new bridge also passable for bicycles. The new crossing, again made of timber, is thus wider. Yet it is supported by the existing abutments.
Four Timber Kindergartens, Regensdorf
The more than 60 year old double kindergarten Roos in the Zurich agglomeration community Regensdorf was replaced by a kindergarten with four rooms in 2016. The new buildings are made entirely of timber and thus create a particularly pleasant learning environment for the youngest Regensdorfers.
New Construction: Timber dealer OLWO Otto Lädrach, Worb
The timber processor and trader Otto Lädrach AG in Worb (OLWO for short) needed a new office and exhibition building. The old building no longer met the requirements and space requirements. In the middle of Worb, a dominant four-story timber building has been built.
Renovation Steinbachbrücke, Trubschachen
The covered wooden bridge at the exit of Trubschachen leads across the Ilfis and opens up the Steinbach and Buhus area. It does not have to carry a lot of traffic, but sometimes it has to carry heavy vehicles.
Hybrid Construction for Primary Schools, Bonstetten
Timber shapes the everyday school life of the children in the Schachenmatten schoolhouse in Bonstetten. The school building, built in 2015, is a hybrid building with concrete ceilings and load-bearing exterior walls made of timber. In the heart of the municipality of Köniz, a residential and commercial building on Neuhausplatz has been built in a sunny location close to the center.
Höllbach Bridge, Plasselb
It weighs 28 tons, is almost 6 meters high, was built of 45 cubic meters of timber and is covered with around 37,000 shingles.
Gymnasium, Bösingen FR
On behalf of the municipality of Bösingen, Timbatec AG carried out an expertise on the roof of the gym. It was found that the load-bearing safety of the structure was no longer guaranteed.

Mobilcity Competence Center Car, Wankdorf Bern
The fact that ten associations in a sector are joining forces to set up a joint training center is extraordinary. This is exactly what the automobile associations did in Bern Wankdorf on Wölflistrasse. They constructed a new building as a training and further education center for the Swiss automotive industry. Timbatec was commissioned with the demanding planning of these halls.
School Complex and Library, Dietlikon
The 2 full floors above ground level of the school building village Dietlikon were realized in timber frame construction. The municipal library on the upper floor has its own entrance at the southern end of the building.

Veterinary Hospital New Office Building, Zürich
About 10 years ago, a three-year office temporary made of containers was erected on the premises of the Zurich Veterinary Hospital. For this reason, the client decided to build a new building.
Renovation of pedestrian bridge, Vechigen
As part of the planned renovation of these covers, the canton commissioned Timbatec to examine the bridge in more detail. This condition examination revealed that the main girders had locally rotten spots at roadway height. As a remediation proposal, various measures and methods were analysed and the costs quantified.
New Construction of Observation Tower Altberg, Dänikon
1st prize at the project competition Turm Altberg 2008! A timber tower with palisade-like columns on the ground plan diagonals, a staircase opening upwards and a roofed viewing platform at a good 30 m height. Already in 1895 there was a lookout tower about 10 - 12 m high on the barely forested hilltop of the Altberg. This tower disappeared before 1917. What happened to it is no longer traceable today.

Extension/Expansion of Blood Donation Center, Aarau
The inner courtyard of the existing 3-story building was extended and extended with 2 stories. The construction stretches cantilever across the inner courtyard. New Bridge in Gries Park, Volketswil
As part of the restoration of the Griessbach stream, a park with various ponds was created. The parking deck is a generous passage across the pond. Extension of Migros, Zofingen
As part of the renovation work, the existing Migros building was extended and now offers space for the Migros restaurant. Construction: timber-frame walls, BSH primary beam roof construction up to 1.0 m high, ribbed ceiling secondary support system, span widths up to 10 m.
New Office Building Schmelzbergstrasse, Zürich

Renovation Höchhus, Steffisburg
First, the condition of the timber structure had to be measured by means of drilling resistance measurements and then assessed. We have recalculated the roof construction on the basis of the new structural standards and assessed its safety.

Replacement for the old, dilapidated concrete trough bridge. Due to the demand for a traditional appearance, a construction with a roof was chosen. Simple suspension system with a ribbed plate as the roadway. The central cross beam is designed as a steel beam due to the limited space available. Bike Bridge over the Töss, Wülflingen
The scenic surroundings required great care in the construction and design of the new footbridge. From a series of variants, covered and uncovered construction, a waisted truss bridge with inclined struts was built.
New Galilei Tower, Heureka, Zürich-Brunau
The round 12-story exhibition tower made of wood, diameter and height 50 m each, formed the opposite pole to the high-tech tents of the exhibition. A skeleton with circular masts and semicircular pliers was chosen as the main supporting structure. For the connection of the pliers, it was necessary to develop a new type of heavy-duty connecting material, which had to meet high demands with requirements such as load-bearing capacity, flexibility (round timber) and favorable procurement. Wood can certainly be used for more than just archaic buildings, yet here it was the welcome backdrop for a historical research exhibition.
