The University of Namur can house 500 students. There is also a well-developed private rental market in the capital of Wallonia, so there are plenty of ways to find accommodation to meet your needs.

University Halls of Residence The Carmel The Carmel is the former Carmelite convent in Jambes (Rue de l’Aurore) which was converted into 31 student rooms for those in search of peace and tranquillity. It is 3.5km from the University (bus stop 50m, with 4 buses per hour going to Namur station, Jambes station 500m), near the Acinapolis cinema, a swimming pool, the ADEPS sports centre and shops. There are shared kitchens with fridge, electric hob and microwave oven, TVs in each lounge area, a table tennis room and a ‘clubhouse’. The Students’ Social Service provides information regarding student grants from the Wallonia- (FWB), annual tuition fees, student jobs and young people’s rights and obligations, etc. It assesses applications for reductions in tuition fees and provides financial support in the form of interest-free loans (staggered payment of tuition fees, advances of FWB grants, emergency financial assistance, etc.) and non-reimbursable grants. The Service can also provide assistance in case of personal or family problems. It can help you to structure your day-to-day living and provides support during periods of change, as well as assistance to your family, if required.
