2016 PLAYOFFS: The Cavaliers opened up their 20th playoff appearance on April 17 against Detroit. The Cavs swept the Pistons, 4-0, in the First Round. Cleveland is 88-84 all-time in the postseason, including 56-30 at home. Since 2006, the Cavs are 35-12 during the playoffs at Quicken Loans Arena.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE: Kevin Love notched a double-double in each game of the First Round against Detroit and finished the series with averages of 18.8 points and 12.0 rebounds in 35.8 minutes per game. Love is only one of four players this playoffs to notch four double-doubles in the opening round. His 12.0 rebounds per game ranks 1st in the East in the 2016 Playoffs (4th in NBA).

20 THREES: Cleveland shot 20-38 (.526) from the three-point line in their 107-90 win in Game 2 of the First Round against Detroit on April 20.

 The 20 three-pointers set a new franchise playoff record for three-pointers in a game (previously 14, three times).  The 20 three-pointers tied the NBA’s previous postseason record for three-pointers in a game (Later 21 three-pointers by Golden State on 4/24/16).  The 20 three-pointers are the most three-pointers the Cavs have made in any game (regular and postseason).  Eight Cavalier players hit at least one three-pointer in the win.  Cleveland drained 11 three-pointers in the first half, which also marks a new Cavaliers playoff record for most threes in a half (prev. 9 in a half, twice)  J. R. Smith hit a team-high seven three-pointers on 11 attempts for 21 points in the Cavaliers' victory, hitting 7 of his 11 shots from beyond the arc. Smith matched an NBA record for most points in a playoff game, with all points produced on three-point field goals. Canton Charge forward Nick Minnerath and guard Quinn Cook were recognized by the NBA Development League with honors for their play during the 2015-16 season. Minnerath was named Second Team All-NBA D-League, while Cook was named to the League’s Third Team as well as First Team All-Rookie. Minnerath played in 49 games (10 starts) and was second on the team in scoring, averaging 18.5 points on .508 shooting and 6.9 rebounds in 29.9 minutes per game. He helped Canton tie a franchise record 31 wins this season after arriving as an affiliate player from the Cleveland Cavaliers. ROCKIN’ THE Q: The Cavs sold out all 41 regular season home games in 2015-16, the third time in franchise history the team has accomplished that feat (2009-10 and 2014-15). To date, including regular season (381) and playoffs (47), there have been 428 sellouts at The Q and 94 consecutive sellouts (regular season and playoff games only, dating back to 10/30/14).

 The Cavs opened the 2015-16 season at Quicken Loans Arena on Oct. 30 against the , which was their 11th straight home opener sellout.  Cleveland also filled up the arena in all 10 home games during the 2015 Playoffs.  The team’s 400th sellout (regular + post) at The Q came on Jan. 2, 2016 against Orlando.

JAMES JONES NAMED RECIPIENT OF AUSTIN CARR GOOD GUY AWARD: CLEVELAND, OH - April 12, 2016 - Cavaliers forward James Jones is the recipient of the 11th annual Austin Carr Good Guy Award, presented by the local chapter of the Pro Basketball Writers Association (PBWA). The award, named after Cavaliers legend Austin Carr, is designed to recognize a Cavaliers player who is cooperative and understanding of the media. Jones, 35, is in his second year with the Cavaliers. He has appeared in 47 games this season, averaging 3.6 points while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range. A second-round pick of the Indiana Pacers in 2003, Jones also serves as the secretary-treasurer for the NBA Players Association.

Carr, who played nine seasons with the Cavaliers, was the No. 1 pick of the 1971 NBA Draft by Cleveland and was selected by 32 members of the media in Northeast Ohio to the Cavaliers All-Time Starting Five during the Cavaliers 30th anniversary season in 1999-2000. He is now the television analyst for FOX Sports Ohio and the team's Director of Community and Business Development. The award, which is presented annually, was voted upon by the local writers in Cleveland's chapter of the Pro Basketball Writers Association.
