AP26271PU-N Polyclonal Antibody to BANP / SMAR1 (Center) - Aff - Purified

Alternate names: BEN domain-containing 1, BEND1, Btg3-associated nuclear protein, Scaffold/matrix-associated region-1-binding protein Quantity: 0.1 mg Background: BANP was initially identified as a binding protein to BTG3 in a yeast two-hybrid screen. BANP acts as a tumor suppressor by stabilizing p53 expression and leading to arrest. p53 in turn binds to upstream elements of the BANP promoter, thereby forming a feedback loop. BANP is down-regulated in advanced stages of human breast cancer, and its overexpression in breast cancer cell lines inhibits their ability to metastasize by modulating TGF-b signaling. Furthermore, BANP can modulate NF-kB transactivation and can inhibit tumorigenesis by regulating NF-kB target . Recent experiments have shown that BANP can also repress HIV-1 LTR mediated transcription by tethering the LTR matrix attachment region to nuclear matrix. Uniprot ID: Q8N9N5 NCBI: NP_001167010 GeneID: 54971 Host: Rabbit Immunogen: 14 amino acid peptide near the center of human BANP Format: State: Liquid Ig fraction Purification: Affinity chromatography purified via peptide column Buffer System: Antibody is supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide Applications: ELISA. Western blot: 1-2 µg/ml. Positive control: Mouse Kidney Tissue Lysate. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. Specificity: This antibody detects BANP / SMAR1 at Center. Species Reactivity: Tested: Human, mouse, rat Storage: Store at 2 - 8 °C for up to three months or (in aliquots) at -20 °C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch. General Readings: 1. Birot A, Duret L, Bartholin L, Santalucia B, Tigaud I, Magaud J, et al.
