-The Washington Nationals 23-5 win established several records in the annals of both Nationals (2005-pres.) and franchise (Washington/Montreal) history…They include:

• Franchise record (Nationals/Expos) for runs in a game (23). • Nationals record (2005-present) for home runs in a game (7). • Franchise record (Nationals/Expos) for RBI in a single game (Anthony Rendon, 10). • Nationals record (2005-present) for RBI in a single month (Ryan Zimmerman, 29). • Tied Nationals record (2005-present) for hits in a game (23, also June 16, 2015 at TBR). • Anthony Rendon is the third Nationals player with a three-homer game joining Bryce Harper (May 6, 2015), Ryan Zimmerman (May 29, 2013), Adam Dunn (July 7, 2010) and Alfonso Soriano (April 21, 2006).

-3B Anthony Rendon set a Nationals/Expos franchise record for RBI in a game with ten …The ten RBI were the most by a player in a Major League game since Garret Anderson (LAA) did so on August 21, 2007 vs. NYY…He is the 13th player on MLB history with at least 10 RBI in a game (MLB record is 12 RBI shared by Mark Whiten (9/7/1993) and (9/16/1924))…His previous career-high for RBI in a game was four, which he had done four times.

-Rendon launched his first three home runs of the season for the first multi-homer game of his career…His 6-for-6 performance set a career-high for hits in a game… His previous high was four hits in a game which he had done eight times…It was his sixth multi- effort of the season, improving to .344 (22-for-64) over his last 16 games with three home runs, three doubles, 14 RBI, and 10 runs scored after starting the season 3-for-26 (.115)

-C Matt Wieters added a pair of home runs for the eighth multi-homer game of his career, first as a member of the Washington Nationals.

-1B Ryan Zimmerman added two more RBI on the day to give him 29 on the season, the 29 RBI set a Nationals (2005-pres) record for a single calendar month.

-LF Jayson Werth added his sixth multi-hit performance of the season (2-for-4) and has hit safely in 14 of his last 20 games, batting .303 (20-for-66) with eight RBI and 12 runs scored in that span.

-According to the Elias Sports Bureau , the Nationals are the first team in MLB history to score at least 14 runs in a game FIVE times in April.

NEW YORK METS (10-14)

- The 23 runs allowed by the Mets were the second most in a game in franchise history (26 runs allowed on June 11, 1985 at Philadelphia).

-RF Jay Bruce hit a one-out single in the top of the first inning, that drove in SS Jose Reyes from third, to give the Mets an early 1-0 lead...Bruce has now hit safely in 21 of his 23 game played this season...He also hit his seventh home of the season in the top of the third inning off RHP Joe Ross...Bruce's seven home runs are the most by any Met this season.
