Amended Newsletter 29 Amended Newsletter 29 “This Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached to all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.” Alpha and Omega Christian Foundation, Telephone: 0416 295 270; E-mail: aocf <at> optusnet.com.au; www.thechristianherald.info Newsletter 29 (7/2015) 1 Friends And Leaders Around the World, Greetings Again A year ago we informed you that we were curtailing the publication of Newsletters and concentrate on The Christian Herald magazines only. We took that decision for the following reasons: 1. An increasing number of our readers were coming from countries to which we had never sent any Newsletters. That indicated to us that perhaps our Newsletters were no longer needed as they were in the early stages of this work. That would allow us to redirect our time, efforts and expenses to areas that are in greater need. You may have noticed that our web site was not quite right in recent times. There are expenses in this work that we have not always been able to keep up to date. 2. It became obvious to us that word of mouth had spread out knowledge of this work far and wide, much more effectively than our Newsletters could ever do. However, with the publication of The Christian Herald No 31, we found ourselves in a great need of a Newsletter. Not because we needed to inform our readers about it, who have come to us uninvited from 188 countries, but because we desperately needed to inform political, national and religious leaders, as well as media and other personalities, of extraordinary developments that are beyond the scope of an annual publication. On the day we published our magazine, Greece failed on its debt repayments, the Stock Market took a dive, the world exploded into a series of terrorist attacks – in Tunisia, France, Kuwait, Egypt, other places, and more importantly, America’s Supreme Court imposed “gay marriage” on all 51 States of the United States of America – an extremely ominous development. So why is a Newsletter needed to tell the world about developments that are written large on media headlines all over the world? Because we look at the world from God’s point of view and you will not find that in any comparable publication in the world. There is a spiritual element in everything that is happening in this world, one that is missing in world media reports and commentaries, and without it the best they can do is fire shots in the dark. The recent upheavals in the world – Ukraine, Middle East, South China Sea and elsewhere, cannot be understood outside their proper prophetic milieu. The world is in a far worse condition than people realize. The world is heading at high speed into a catastrophe unequaled in history. You will find details in The Christian Heralds, as usual on line at our web site: www.thechristianherald.info In the service of Jesus Christ Grigore Sbarcea Coordinator: Alpha and Omega Christian Foundation The Christian Herald No 32 Page 1 Global Warming Worse After Paris Conference In November 2015, the United Nations held a Conference in Paris about the recent worldwide Climate Changes. In the end they decided to hold the Global Warming to less than 1.5 C degrees. We wish them good luck, however something was glaringly missing from their deliberations: they forgot, probably because no one has told them, what God thinks about these developments. God says that the main reason for the recent rise in global temperatures is not carbon emissions, but humanity’s plunge into a morass of immorality, sins and blasphemies the likes of which this world has never seen. For this reason, it will face a Great Tribulation the likes of which it also has never seen. Mat 24:21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. Rev 16:1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth." [The “natural disasters” we see in the world at present – droughts, epidemics, AIDS, infectious diseases, diabetes, obesity, social problems, terrorism, wars, etc. – are symptom of the wrath of God]. Rev 16:2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Rev 16:3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died. [Biblical prophecies usually begin with Israel and spread to the rest of the world. At the time of Jesus Christ, there was a sea in Israel called the Salt Sea. Today it is called the Dead Sea. The world’s oceans, lakes and rivers, groan under the weight of human refuse, sea life is in stress everywhere, and a large part of humanity that depends on it, is heading towards famine and oblivion at high speeds]. Rev 16:4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. [The prophet saw water pollution and described it as blood. The word ‘pollution’ did not exist then]. Rev 16:5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying: "You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. Rev 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due." And I heard another from the altar saying, Rev 16:7 "Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments." Rev 16:8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. [Global Warming through solar heating and radiation at God’s command]. Rev 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. [Disregard of God’s laws and blasphemies against Him are the real reasons for Global Warming. And what did humans do about that? They did not repent, did not give Him glory, and blasphemed even more. So they got more of God’s wrath too, and will continue to get more until they learn their lesson. The great tragedy of our time is that having embraced so many of Satan’s sins, lies and deceptions, humanity has lost its way and seems unable to return to God anymore. Certainly not without His forgiveness and guidance! Carbon emissions and thrashing of the environment are manifestations of alienation from God and descent into unprecedented spiritual darkness. What we have in the world at present is not a crisis of the matter, but a crisis of the spirit. Before scientists are having Conferences to save the world their way, religious leaders should have Councils to save the world God’s Way. But where are they? In order to be seen as “progressive” they have embraced Satan’s way of life – the way of immorality and blasphemies, and the sin that God calls and abomination – homosexuality. That is not the way of God. Act 24:14 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. Notice, ‘the Way’, not ‘the ways’, for there is only one Way, “written in the Law and in the Prophets”, that leads to God and life, the way of truth, faith, humility and righteousness, not the way of overt self-confidence, unbelief, and disregard for other people’s rights. Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Act 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." The Christian Herald No 32 Page 2 One can search the world as long as he wants, he will not find a Church or a preacher that keep the Commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ anymore. We have not found any after decades of search. Bear in mind that the Commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ include the biblical Holy Days which no Church keeps at the right time or in the appropriate manner. Rev 16:11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds. Another great blasphemy is the denial of a Creator and belief in evolution – a fallacy propagated by the ‘wise’ of this world, the ‘wise’ of both academia and theology, all of which have become fools in the eyes of God. Pro 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise. Psa 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. Psa 14:2 The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

  • NPR Mideast Coverage April - June 2012
NPR Mideast Coverage April - June 2012 This report covers NPR's reporting on events and trends related to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians during the second quarter of 2012. The report begins with an assessment of the 37 stories and interviews, covered by this review, that aired from April through June on radio shows produced by NPR. The 37 radio items is just one more than the lowest number for any quarter (in July-September 2008) during the past ten years. Over that period, NPR programs have carried an average of nearly 100 items per quarter related to Israel, the Palestinians, or both. I also reviewed 20 news stories, blogs and other items carried exclusively on NPR's website. All of the radio and website-only items covered by this review are shown on the "Israel-Palestinian coverage" page of the website. The opinions expressed in this report are mine alone. Accuracy I carefully reviewed all items for factual accuracy, with special attention to the radio stories, interviews and website postings produced by NPR staffers. NPR's coverage of the region continues to be remarkably accurate for a news organization with very tight deadlines. NPR has posted no corrections on its website for stories that originated during the April-June quarter; two corrections were posted in April concerning items dealt with in my report for the January-March quarter. I found no outright inaccuracies during the period, but I will point out two instances of misleading use of language. Freelance correspondent Sheera Frenkel reported for All Things Considered on May 8 about the status of a hunger strike among Palestinian prisoners.

  • Media Locks in the New Narrative
    7. Influences on a changed story and the new normal: media locks in the new narrative It was the biggest, most powerful spin campaign in Australian media history—the strategy was to delay action on greenhouse gas emissions until ‘coal was ready’—with geo-sequestration (burying carbon gases) and tax support. Alan Tate, ABC environment reporter 1990s On 23 September 2013 the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) program Media Watch explored a textbook example of why too many Australians and their politicians continue to stumble through a fog of confusion and doubt in regard to climate change. The case under the microscope typified irresponsible journalism. Media Watch host Paul Barry, with trademark irony, announced: ‘Yes it’s official at last … those stupid scientists on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [IPCC] got it wrong’, in their latest assessment report. He quoted 2GB breakfast jock Chris Smith from a week earlier saying the IPCC had ‘fessed up’ that its computers had drastically overestimated rising temperatures. ‘That’s a relief,’ said Barry, and how do we know this? ‘Because Chris Smith read it on the front page of last Monday’s Australian newspaper. When it comes to rubbishing the dangers of man-made global warming the shock jocks certainly know who they can trust.’ But wait. The Australian’s story by Environment Editor Graham Lloyd—‘We got it wrong on warming says IPCC’ was not original either. According to Media Watch, Lloyd appeared to have based his story on a News Limited sister publication from the United Kingdom. Said Barry: ‘He’d read all about it in the previous day’s Mail on Sunday,’ which had a story headlined ‘The great green con’.

  • The Australian Apparently Plans to Complain
Media Watch sent to ACMA. Haven’t they had a Barry? • SHARRI MARKSON • THE AUSTRALIAN • FEBRUARY 24, 2014 12:00AM AUSTRALIA’S most experienced editor plans to lodge a complaint with the communications watchdog about the ABC’s Media Watch program’s failure to meet editorial guidelines. The Australian editor-in-chief Chris Mitchell has also denied claims by Media Watch host Paul Barry over the national broadsheet’s financial position. Mitchell, the nation’s longest-serving editor, has revealed The Australian’s digital advertising revenue is increasing by double digits, newspaper advertising revenue is up and national readership is growing beyond 3.1 million a month. The Australian, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, was not a “loss-making hole in the ocean”, Mitchell said, which was how media rivals, particularly the ABC, liked to portray it. Mitchell said he would complain to the Australian Communications and Media Authority over the ABC’s failure to seek comment from News Corp Australia before going to air with false claims that the paper was losing up to $50 million a year, after the national broadcaster refused to correct the record. “The Australian should not have to draw the program’s attention to the ABC’s code of conduct and editorial policies,” The Australian’s letter to the ABC says. “The program has demonstrably failed to apply the same ‘recognised standards of objective journalism’ to which it is bound by statute and which it expects of the media each week.” In an embarrassing breach of ABC editorial policy, Barry admitted to business media writer Darren Davidson that he did not contact The Australian for comment, despite seeking clarification from Fairfax, The Daily Telegraph and The Daily Mail for his report on the profitability of newspapers.

I’M HERE FOR AN ARGUMENT WHY BIPARTISANSHIP ON SECURITY MAKES AUSTRALIA LESS SAFE DR ANDREW CARR DISCUSSION PAPER | AUGUST 2017 I’m here for an argument Why bipartisanship on security makes Australia less safe Discussion paper Dr Andrew Carr Senior Lecturer – Strategic & Defence Studies Centre, Australian National University August 2017 I’m here for an argument 1 ABOUT THE AUSTRALIA INSTITUTE The Australia Institute is an independent public policy think tank based in Canberra. It is funded by donations from philanthropic trusts and individuals and commissioned research. We barrack for ideas, not political parties or candidates. Since its launch in 1994, the Institute has carried out highly influential research on a broad range of economic, social and environmental issues. OUR PHILOSOPHY As we begin the 21st century, new dilemmas confront our society and our planet. Unprecedented levels of consumption co-exist with extreme poverty. Through new technology we are more connected than we have ever been, yet civic engagement is declining. Environmental neglect continues despite heightened ecological awareness. A better balance is urgently needed. The Australia Institute’s directors, staff and supporters represent a broad range of views and priorities. What unites us is a belief that through a combination of research and creativity we can promote new solutions and ways of thinking. OUR PURPOSE – ‘RESEARCH THAT MATTERS’ The Institute publishes research that contributes to a more just, sustainable and peaceful society. Our goal is to gather, interpret and communicate evidence in order to both diagnose the problems we face and propose new solutions to tackle them. The Institute is wholly independent and not affiliated with any other organisation.
