THE MATRIX SELECT DISCOGRAPHY THE MATRIX are a seven-time Grammy-nominated songwriting/production team. Lauren Christy, Graham Edwards and Scott Spock are also the recipients of the Ivor Novello Award for Best International Pop Hit of the Year 2003; BMI and ASCAP Songwriters of The Year 2004, as well as two- time Canadian Juno winner for Pop Song of the Year and Album of The Year 2003. The Matrix have had numerous songs in the Top 20 Billboard Charts in various formats that they co-authored and produced of which three went to #1 for over 19 weeks. In total, The Matrix’s songs have sold over 26 million records through the various artists they have worked with. The songs they had written and produced for Avril Lavigne achieved them 5 Grammy nominations in 2003 including Best Song of the Year for "Complicated" as well as Best Album of the Year; as well as 2 Grammy nominations in 2004 for Song of The Year for “I’m With You” as well as Producer of The Year. They followed with a string of hits for Jason Mraz (“The Remedy”), Hilary Duff (“So Yesterday”), Liz Phair (“Extraordinary” And “Why Can’t I”) and Shakira (“Don’t Bother”). They have written and produced songs for an extensive roster of today’s top artists including The Mooney Suzuki, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, David Bowie, Shakira, Britney Spears, Busted and many others. More recently, they co- wrote and produced Korn’s chart topping multi-platinum album “See You On The Other Side” and “Untitled”. The Matrix have been listed in a recent book entitled “The Greatest Rock and Pop Miscellany Ever” published by Sanctuary Publishing LTD, as one of the top ten Svengalis of all time in the music business. They have also been written up in many magazines and newspapers including Rolling Stone, The New York Times, LA Times, Mix, EQ and Wired discussing everything from songwriting to microphone techniques. They also have been consultants for new technologies for Apple and Digidesign amongst others and frequently have appeared on panels discussing the future of the music business and related technologies for The Grammy Foundation, various universities and colleges as well as Wired Magazine.
