It is our goal that Old World Wisconsin become a wonderful memory - filled with sensory engagement, hands on encounters, and new experiences that will make students excited and eager to learn more about Wisconsin’s rich immigrant stories.

Made up of 60 historic structures from all over the state, Old World Wisconsin brings history to life with interdisciplinary, hands-on storytelling, using gardens, farms, animals, and furnished houses that represent Wisconsin’s rich immigrant histories and identities.

As an adult accompanying your child's field trip, you play an important role in the success of the students’ experience. You will be called upon to guide students from building to building, keep them focused, store and retrieve lunches, and assist students at the museum store.

Remember that your field trip is carefully scheduled and interwoven with the field trips of many other schools. We recognize that circumstances beyond your control sometimes cause groups to fall behind schedule. Please help us get your group back on schedule by following the instructions given by our staff. They will do their very best to give you a quality experience in the time that you have on site. If you have any questions or problems during your field trip, please speak to any of our staff mem- bers.

Use the time to enjoy your lunch, clean up, and have students use the rest room. You will have limited time for this at other stops. We encourage groups to bring a ball, or other small activities if they know their group will finish lunch quickly.
