Tibshelf Community School Introduction

Firstly, I would like to thank all of you for your continuing support and efforts over the last two months. It has been extremely challenging for all of us in these exceptional and unprecedented times and I am humbled by the support and kindness shown by our community towards one another.

As you know, the Prime Minister announced a roadmap towards recovery, which included the phased reopening of our schools. This includes some face to face support for our year 10 students, to supplement the remote education they receive. Over the past few weeks, our staff have been working very hard to ensure that we meet all of the Government’s guidance on social distancing and infection control when we do start to welcome students back. The health and safety of staff and students remains our absolute priority and we have produced extensive and thorough risk assessments based on local authority and national guidance. From Monday 15th June, we will begin opening to small groups of year 10 students to offer some face to face support with their teachers. This guidance booklet should be read carefully by parents, carers and students to ensure that you fully understand how school will operate during this time. Whilst we encourage all students to attend as outlined in this booklet, it is the decision of families whether or not to attend these sessions. Please read very carefully through the information included. At the end of the booklet there is a list of FAQs and relevant contact information for staff, should you wish to discuss anything further. Mike Pollard, Headteacher
