Age Concern Eastwood £14,000 This project aims to provide better management and capacity Broxtowe within the organisation to sustain our lunch club and social activities for older people from Eastwood and the surrounding areas.

We will employ a part-time manager who will oversee day to day operations, find funding and increase support for older people.

Age Concern and £5,000 This project aims to create somewhere warm and friendly, with a Bassetlaw nice atmosphere to encourage and motivate the older person to leave the safety and comfort of their own homes. Where they can feel safe / respected, meet old/new friends; to feel part of something; to escape loneliness and isolation they feel.

Age Concern £2,000 To continue to promote the relief of elderly people in any manner, Mansfield which is deemed by law to be charitable in and around Mansfield, by the provision and operation of day facilities for elderly people. Specifically, we aim to continue the vital roles filled by two paid part-time staff.

Age Concern Warsop and District £4,000 This project aims to provide 40 local residents in the local district a Mansfield hot cooked lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays (20 per session), safe transport from their home and back again (£6 charge per person), and an opportunity to meet their friends. We also provide 9 days out throughout the year, subsidising the cost to make it more affordable. We will also hire a venue to cook a free Christmas lunch for 125 elderly people, continuing a tradition of more than 20 years. Age UK and Befriending £16,870 Through the provision of a Visiting & Befriending service this Nottinghamshire project will tackle loneliness amongst older people. Fully trained volunteers will support older people to engage in their local communities and stay healthy and happy as they grow older therefore allowing them to live independently for as long as possible. Age UK Nottingham and Men in Sheds £8,190 This Men in Sheds project aims to: Newark and Nottinghamshire - reduce loneliness and isolation among older men. Sherwood - improve older men’s health and wellbeing - provide respite for carers. - provide access to information, advice and health promotions. - engage with the local community. - create volunteering opportunities for retired men. Alzheimer’s Society Side by Side £14,000 Side by Side encourages and supports people with dementia to Gedling remain active within their communities. Volunteers empower and support individuals to identify talents, strengths and capabilities; maintaining relationships with peers and wider community. Volunteers encourage individuals to get out-n-about, be active, retain old activities; taking up new interests where possible.

Ashfield Play Forum £7,000 This project aims to promote the value of play in improving the Ashfield quality of life for children and young people. To meet our aims we support the provision of positive play opportunities by providing play resources, play days and training, ensuring groups make the most effective use of their financial and physical resources.

Ashfield Seniors £1,500 This project aims to develop a partnership with carers and people Ashfield suffering with dementia and resulting in loneliness and isolation by raising awareness and empowerment. Bamboozle Theatre Multi-sensory £5,000 This 3-year project aims to enable Nottinghamshire based children Mansfield Family Experiences with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and/or Autism to take part in a multi-sensory interactive family experience with their families (parents, siblings and carers). We produce new shows every year – for 2018/19 we would take elements of our show Pulse and create a new multi-sensory experience for Nottinghamshire families to enjoy. We would have a different show/experience each year. We would work in up to 2 Nottinghamshire cultural venues making it more accessible to Nottinghamshire families. Nottinghamshire based artists will be employed to work as part of the Bamboozle team helping to develop the counties arts sector & infrastructure. The artists will take the children and their families on an interactive and multi- sensory creative journey – enabling the family to have quality time together – improving communication within the family, reducing social isolation and providing free quality creative activities to families where nothing else is available. Base 51 Eastwood £7,000 This project aims to build on the success and learning of the pilot Broxtowe Counselling Project counselling hub at Eastwood Youth Centre. Findings from the pilot clearly demonstrates a need to provide a local counselling service to young people (12 to 25 years) in the county, which is flexible and responsive to their needs.

Lack of transport is a real barrier to older and vulnerable people, preventing access to essential services. Transport will be available for individual/group hire. Bassetlaw CVS Nottinghamshire £110,000 This project aims to build on the strategic success of the existing Broxtowe Together Nottinghamshire Together partnership and its achievements in the co-production and redesign of services to whole system commissioning. Offering a single point of access for strategic infrastructure support whilst playing an active role in local place- based area coordination.

Beckingham Youth Club £2,000 Beckingham Youth Club aims to provide a fun and safe place for Bassetlaw young people from Beckingham and surrounding areas to meet, socialise and take part in youth sports and activities. We aim to promote and encourage a sense of community ownership and improve physical, mental health and wellbeing of the Young People. Beeston Dementia Friends Beeston Memory £5,000 This project aims to support people with dementia and their family Broxtowe Cafe carers living in the community. The cafe is a safe, friendly venue where all are welcome and dementia is accepted. Cafe sessions include social and arts therapy activities, information and the opportunity to meet and get to know new people. Blue Skies Community Initiative Blue Skies Active8 £1,000 To deliver 8-days of affordable summer play scheme to rurally Bassetlaw Rural Play Scheme isolated children in the area for three years. Ambitious, exciting activities will ensure socially and financially disadvantaged children have high quality new experiences to raise aspiration and increase confidence. Transport will bring children together in local venues.

Broxtowe African Caribbean Elders £2,000 This project aims to give support and guidance to those in need by Broxtowe Group providing companionship by means of a healthy eating luncheon club, exercise classes, games and crafts bringing together our Afro Caribbean Elders in the Broxtowe area to a safe environment.

Caribbean Elders Group £2,000 This project is a self-help initiative which aims to provide a monthly Gedling social, health and wellbeing session combining gentle chair-based exercise, guest speakers, outings and creative activities with a hearty meal to reduce loneliness and isolation and build resilience in older members of the Gedling and surrounding Caribbean community.

Carlton Youth Centre £4,000 The centre provides a welcoming place for young people to come Bassetlaw to engage with youth workers whilst having fun and staying safe. We provide information and sign post them to other agency’s on a number of topics ranging from sexual health to employment opportunities, and aid their social development. Centre for Sport and Learning Community Activity £7,000 CSL is a community resource centre in the heart of Manton, Bassetlaw Programme . Our aim is to develop a cohesive and empowered community using the power of sport, learning and engagement. The centre is a trusted and safe environment bringing people together offering a range of activity and support services.

Children’s Bereavement Centre £5,000 Provide direct frontline support and counselling to children aged 3- Rushcliffe 18 years and their families following a bereavement or loss. The service will be delivered across Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City; it is the only specialist support service provided in the county. Citizens Advice Nottinghamshire Volunteering and £180,000 This project aims to provide a value for money free, impartial and Ashfield Advice confidential advice service in order to help people help themselves Nottinghamshire on a range of issues and act as an advocate, standing up for local people. Provide quality volunteering opportunities and contribute to a vibrant community.

Collingham and District Village Care £3,060 The project aims to allow its passengers to continue to live Newark and independently by providing an individual service to attend health Sherwood and social appointments (hospital, optician, dentist, day centre, shopping, hospital visiting, etc), thus helping to prevent loneliness and isolation in their own homes. Community Transport for Town and Harworth & £4,250 This project aims to develop further the community minibus Bassetlaw County Bircotes transport service within the Harworth area to provide improved Community Minibus access to health, leisure (social isolation) and shopping facilities. The service is there to provide independence to those who otherwise would be restricted by public transport. We work closely with Harworth Town Council to support independence and address isolation.

Cotgrave Advice Centre £2,000 This project aims to advise and support those in the local Rushcliffe community who seek our assistance in a professional manner and to the best of our ability. Creative Paths (EM) CIC Creative Umbrella £5,000 The Creative Umbrella Project aims to deliver our workshops, Mansfield Project small projects and activity buzz sessions throughout Nottinghamshire. To increase our reach to more people at risk of loneliness and to provide one to one support for older people unable to access meaningful activity in their homes or communities.

Dial a Trip Ltd £3,315 This project aims to provide transport to clients for medical, social, Bassetlaw respite care as well as visiting friends and relatives in hospital and care homes. This is to help improve their health and wellbeing. To help elevate rural and social isolation by getting them to social and other activities.

Eastwood Volunteer Bureau Community £11,900 This project aims to provide a Community Transport Scheme Broxtowe Transport offering safe, accessible, cost effective, flexible transport run by the community for the community. It meets the needs of people who cannot easily access cars, taxis or buses and make journeys that most people take for granted. It harnesses the experience and energy of volunteers who give freely of their time to help others.

Feel Good Gardens £7,000 This project aims to make local people healthier, happier, better Newark and informed, more included and less isolated by offering them the Sherwood opportunity to grow fruit, flowers and vegetables and do woodwork at structured work parties on an accessible community garden site in the Nottinghamshire countryside.

We also offer an exit pathway to continuous activity with club membership. Recruit volunteer coaches to support growth in membership. Mansfield Junior Badminton Club Developing £1,000 To support and strengthen the local community by encouraging Mansfield Badminton and increasing participation and volunteering opportunities. Being a disciplined sport this will make a positive contribution towards a healthier lifestyle, improve self-confidences / esteem, social interaction skills and strive to reduce anti-social and disruptive behaviour.

Mansfield Play Forum £7,000 Provision of accessible play opportunities that meet the social, Mansfield psychological and physical needs of children, delivered through direct work with children and by offering support, advice, training and shared resources to groups who work with children. Services offered include: a Play Resource Centre, Toy Library, Loan Equipment, Scrap store, Positive Play, Street and Park Play, Play in Schools and Play Days.

Enable older adults to remain independent to live in their own homes as long as possible, providing accessible and affordable services allowing them to engage within their communities and having choices and a say in how they live their lives. Movement For All Everybody Dance £2,500 'Everybody Dance' will provide 36 dance sessions per year for Broxtowe people aged 60-80+ in the and Eastwood areas. We will rehearse and perform dances for local groups including memory cafés, luncheon clubs, care homes etc. We will recruit new members and volunteers, and work in partnership with the community. Muddy Fork Gardening for £4,000 To help people overcome common mental health disorders, Bassetlaw Wellbeing including depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We do this by providing opportunities and support to get involved in volunteer gardening and conservation. We run two sessions per week from 10:00 to 14:30 in our nature reserve gardens in Retford.

Netherfield Forum - Loco Centre £5,000 This project aims to improve the lives of children & young people Gedling to provide a safe venue for the delivery of a range of social activities, educational & wellbeing sessions to those living in a high deprivation area. This centre is inclusive; it is open to all children & young people in Netherfield and the surrounding areas. CVS Door 2 Door £11,645 Door to Door provides safe, affordable, accessible and responsive Newark and transport for individuals and groups, enabling greater Sherwood independence and social interaction for the service users, many of whom would rarely leave their house without this provision. Door2Door supports other initiatives and projects by providing transport for clients – for example to Day Centres - thus helping these initiatives achieve sustainable numbers of clients attending.

Newark and Sherwood Play Support £7,000 This project aims to support our local community by running Newark and Group activities from 2 small community venues for various groups and Sherwood individuals from art and craft for children and adults to playschemes and playdays, supporting local groups which keep our communities healthy from yoga and Pilates to chair exercises, cookery classes, floristry, archery, training etc.

Newark Book Festival £1,000 To celebrate a high-quality arts and literacy festival that reaches Newark and new audiences, artists and communities in providing a richer Sherwood engagement opportunity, skills development and raised aspirations and ambition. At the heart is the aim to raise the profile of Nottinghamshire’s rich cultural, heritage and literary influences – people and landscapes.

Newstead Youth Club Committee £4,500 This project aims to provide fun and engaging activities for young Gedling people in Newstead, including sports, arts, heritage, learning opportunities and to improve young people’s skills. We will also address such issues as Anti-Social Behaviour, Hate Crime and Criminal Damage as this is a particular problem at the moment.

Nottingham Community Transport Ltd £16,000 To launch County Connect transport service between 9:30am and Rushcliffe 3:00pm on weekdays, to registered users only. Minibus hire service for community and voluntary groups from Sherwood Depot at competitive rates. Nottingham Counselling Service BAME Counselling £7,000 The project will contribute towards the council’s priority of making Mansfield Hub people healthier. The plan is to establish two new hubs to widen access to counselling for adults and young people, targeting BME communities across Nottinghamshire and also people with low incomes living in Mansfield and the North of the county. Nottingham Mencap Smile Stop Hate £7,000 We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of people with Newark and Crime learning disabilities & autism by increasing their confidence and Sherwood knowledge about safety at home, in the community and when using the internet. This will enable them to lead more independent, fulfilling lives and encourage inclusion within our local communities. Nottingham Playhouse Trust Ltd SHINE £14,000 SHINE will empower 160 children and young people from Broxtowe disadvantaged backgrounds proving that Nottinghamshire is a great place to fulfil their ambitions through drama led intervention. They will increase their confidence, develop their employability skills, reach their potential, discover their voices and achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

Nottinghamshire Deaf Society Deaf Community £15,400 To develop and support new and existing community groups and Bassetlaw Development activities for people who are deaf. In particular it aims to increase the provision of opportunities for people with an acquired hearing loss to form vibrant and supportive communities. It will aim to promote volunteer and deaf led activities.

Nottinghamshire Federation of Young £7,700 To enhance the opportunities of young people living in rural areas Newark and Farmers Clubs of Nottinghamshire through its membership led clubs, which Sherwood provide members opportunities to have a voice, be decision makers, and enhance personal development through the training programme and officer role system. The project will also provide a dynamic social and healthy lifestyle with the support of the competitions, sport and social programmes. Growing Impact £5,000 We wish to further develop our social impact by extending our Gedling work as a training centre for people with a learning disability, providing increased opportunities for volunteering, work experience, employment skills development and educational support to Nottinghamshire Schools, Colleges and students within the environment of an inner-city farm. Playscheme Summer Play £1,000 This project aims to provide craft, sports and other fun Rushcliffe Scheme opportunities for children in the local area during 2 weeks of the summer holidays. The Crossing SEC Ltd Keeping Well £5,000 This project aims to provide a variety of regular weekly activities Bassetlaw open to all, aimed at encouraging physical and mental wellbeing via seated exercise classes, lunch clubs, social groups etc. Supporting volunteers who are older and/or have physical disabilities, or mental health issues and who use volunteering as part of “keeping well”.

The Crew £1,500 This project aims to continue operating a junior youth club for Gedling children aged from 7 – 14 years in the Daybrook and Arnold areas. We operate every Tuesday evening 6-30 to 8pm in term time only. At present there are 35 members on our books. Most of our members come from disadvantaged backgrounds ranging from medical to social needs.

The Friary £7,000 This project aims to empower local homeless and vulnerable Rushcliffe adults to rebuild their lives by delivering an open access drop-in facility 3 times a week offering in depth advice, health and practical support services. For individuals accessing the current project the befriending meal may be the only healthy nutritional meal they have during the week. Although the centre is able to offer befriending meals Monday to Friday due to the refurbishment eating out every day is costly and individuals accessing the sessions would be restricted financially on the number of days they could access the meals unless the price remains affordable. Unanima Theatre Escaping The Echo £3,000 A collaboration project between the University of Nottingham’s Mansfield Chamber YALLiD Network: Young Adults Living with Learning Disabilities and Unanima Theatre to create a piece of theatre using autobiographical stories and testimonies that reveals and communicates the experiences of young people with LD and their carers and use this to influence change.

Warsop Youth and Community £4,000 This project aims to provide weekly activities throughout the year Mansfield for children and young people in Warsop Parish. Through these activities we will befriend, support and encourage them so that they feel better equipped to transition into adulthood and fulfil their potential as individuals and members of society.

West Bridgford Advice Centre £1,000 This project aims to provide quality information and other advice Rushcliffe services for the benefit of the residents of West Bridgford and surrounding areas. Clients with queries which are outside the remit and competences of the Centre’s volunteers are directed to the appropriate professional or other specialist services.
