Student One Elizabeth Arcade

This project includes the 21,000m2 development of a two-tower dedicated student residence with a street frontage on both Elizabeth and Charlotte Streets in the Brisbane CBD.

Designed by Arkhefi eld Architects, the 25 and 27 level towers re-establish the cross-block linkage between Elizabeth and Charlotte Streets, while seamlessly interconnecting the two towers with a multi-level podium, overlooking a vibrant dining scene.

This development contains 901 beds located in the heart of Brisbane City. The project contained numerous fi re engineering and DDA performance solutions.

Value: $95M Client: Icon Co Year: 2019 Hospital The upgrade of the emergency department of Hervey Bay Hospital involved alternative solutions for:

The fi t out was over 2,500m2. Downer Group Offi ces The SWP Brisbane team were the BCA Consultants on this impressive offi ce fi tout of a chic and contemporary workplace for Downer Group’s Brisbane headquarters.

Designed by Unispace, this 5 level, 6,250m2 development combined some key design features of the existing building - such as an internal, interconnecting staircase - with stylish, innovative interiors to provide a creative, agile workplace.

This ambitious project was delivered in two phases to minimise disruption to staff. Once the fi rst two fl oors were fi nished, work began on the fi nal three fl oors bringing the project to completion.

The outcome is an uplifi ting workplace with view of the Brisbane River, naturally lit, fl exible workspaces, dedicated focus and meeting rooms and breakout areas all linked by an indoor staircase that spans fi ve fl oors.

With views of the Brisbane River, this 1,159m2, workplace includes open-plan work spaces, spacious, modern meeting and board rooms, breakout areas, quiet spaces, dedicated communication rooms and a Zen garden to be enjoyed by the staff.

Other features included are virtual call facilities, specialised AV, an operable wall, fully integrated DALI lighting system and remote controlled automatic shade blinds.

Southport Special School

The new Southport Special School building consisted of eighteen general learnings areas spread over two levels.

Due to the nature of the building, features were provided that were to enhance access and learning for the students with disabilities. The building was provided with a “Changing Places” places facility.

Changing places are provided to assist people with severe disabilities that cannot use standard accessible toilet. Additional features include adult sized changing tables, ceiling hoist and sufficient space for two assistants.

Other key aspects of the project including constructing the building amongst other existing buildings on the site. This provided challenges for fire resisting construction and providing access for people with disability.

Certification of Plenary Schools Consortium

Certification of 10 new schools located around as part of the Plenary Schools Consortium. The new schools are design to cater for approximately 10,000 Students during peak times of enrolment. Each school has a number of building that have been constructed specifically to cater for the needs of students with disabilities. The roll out consisted of eight primary schools and two high schools.
