On August 14, 2012, ProStart® students from Sandia High had an incredible opportunity to participate in an edible journey through “what is local now” in New Mexico at Farm and Table Restaurant in conjunction with Sol Harvest. This event is one example of how ProStart’s industry- driven curriculum provides real-life experience and opportunities that build practical skills and a foundation that will last a lifetime.

The weekend before the dinner, Shannon Montgomery and Rebecca Ruiz of Sandia High joined Farmer Ric Murphy of Sol Harvest to assist in harvesting ingredients for the meal. The girls picked Swiss chard, fingerling potatoes, green onions, and kale. On the evening of the event, Rebecca returned with Daniel Castro, another ProStart student from

BUSINESS ECONOMIC CENSUS IS COMING SOON 22-23 Thanksgiving Holiday NMRA Offices Closed This fall, 390,000 businesses in accommodations and food service will receive 2012 Economic Census forms from the U.S. Census Bureau. Selected companies will receive forms in November, but most will get them in December. Chances are, yours is one of the businesses that will receive a 2012 Economic Census form. December, 2012 Forms go to all but the very smallest businesses in this tally done once every five years. 6 Winter Board Meeting Las Cruces The forms ask for basic information like your location, employment, payroll, and sales by type of product or service. Businesses that receive a form are required by law (Title 13, U.S. Code) to respond. Forms are due by February 12.
