Walkers are Welcome

Thuxton MNR Walk

A triple treat - or more

Wednesday 25 October 2017

Join us for a 7 mile walk (about 3 hours) for three treats. First, a ride on the Mid- Railway’s heritage diesel railcar to Thuxton. Second, a walk through the fields and along tracks, back into Dereham. Third, a drink (tea, coffee or soft drink) and cake at the Station Refreshment Room on return. Oh, and fourth, if you want more to eat or drink, 10% off all further catering purchases made at that time. Children under 5 travel and walk free, but their refreshments will need to be purchased.

The walk starts at Dereham Railway Station (free parking) at 1015 for the 1030 train to Thuxton. Alighting here, we will follow tracks and paths (and a few short sections of road) bringing us back into Dereham, via and the edge of Whinburgh.

There are three stiles and three gates on the walk. Well controlled dogs are welcome, though there are limited open spaces and we do cross the railway and a number of roads (we walk a short way along some of them); dogs travel free on the railway.

Booking is strongly advised: further details and tickets (£7.50, which includes travel, the walk, and drink and cake on return) are available from any Dereham Walkers are Welcome committee member. Or contact Ken Hawkins at [email protected] or on 07505 426750.
