Contact your senator and congressman and tell them to support the Collectible Firearms Protection Act, S. 381 and H.R. 615! Senator Jon Tester and Representative Cynthia Lummis Introduce Bills to Protect the Importation of Historically Significant U.S.-Made Rifles In February 2011, Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and Rep. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) introduced the Collectible Firearms Protection Act, S. 381 and H.R. 615, respectively. The bills propose to amend the Arms Export Control Act to guarantee that U.S.-made military firearms that were previously exported to a foreign government, and which under that law are eligible for re-importation into the U.S. as "curios and relics,"1 will not be blocked from importation. Sen. Tester’s and Rep. Lummis’ bills are a result of a decision of the Obama Administration to reverse its approval of a permit to import historic M1 Garand rifles and M1 carbines that the U.S. provided many years ago to South Korea. Because the rifles had been exported under the authority of the Department of State, the department claimed authority over their importation back into the United States. The department claimed that the rifles might be used "for illicit purposes," but the rifles are among the types of firearms least often misused. In fact, they are two of the four rifles most commonly used for marksmanship competitions in this country. As examples, the M1 is the only rifle used in the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) John C. Garand Matches at the national, state and local levels, and the carbine is the only rifle used in CMP’s M1 Carbine Match series. M1 rifles and carbines have always been legal to manufacture in the United States and have been manufactured in large numbers. The federal government also authorizes original M1 rifles and carbines in government inventory to be sold to collectors and marksmanship competitors through the CMP. All told, M1 rifles and carbines are owned by hundreds of thousands of Americans, and have been for many years. Few firearms are so highly regarded for their historical significance. The Tester-Lummis bills will ensure that Americans will be able to acquire these useful, high-quality and interesting rifles for themselves and their sons and daughters for many years to come. M1 "Garand" Rifle (introduced in 1936) M1 Carbine (introduced in 1942) Notes: 1. "Curios and relics" are firearms "of special interest to collectors" that were "manufactured at least 50 years prior to the current date" and similar categories of firearms. The M1 rifles and carbines in question were manufactured in the 1940s and 1950s. The Arms Export and Control Act [22 U.S.C. 2778 (b)(1)(B)] provides that military firearms of U.S. manufacture, which have been exported to a foreign government, are eligible for importation back into the United States if they have at any time been eligible for importation as "curios and relics" and are owned by the foreign government. Under the Firearms Owners Protection Act (1986) the Attorney General is required to approve the importation of "curio and relic" firearms and firearms that are "particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to sporting purposes" [18 U.S.C. 925(d)], a standard that M1 rifles and carbines easily meet. SAUVESTRE AMMUNITION F.I.P. "Flèche Interne Portée" rifle cartridge The Feline The different types of F.I.P. "Flèche Interne Portée" rifle cartridges available are .300 WSM, 7mm REM and 270 WSM. These offer an outstanding shooting accuracy and remarkable stopping power at short, medium or long distances. The bullet, made of a non-ferrous metal alloy, is equipped with circular grooves thus reducing barrel frictions, pressure loss and variations of initial velocity. .300 WSM (164 GR.) For choked or unchoked shotguns, with smooth or rifled barrels, includes the loaded cartridge case as well as the complete arrow bullet. Its ballistic qualities come from the combination of a sub-caliber arrow with very hard central nucleus surrounded by a mass of lead or non-lead alloy and a launch sabot, made of two ring-shaped half shells that guarantee combustion gas tightness, but also the flexibility needed to go down the barrel. The double chamber at the back of the sabot regulates the expansion of combustion gases on firing and reduces recoil. 12 GA. 2 ¾" France mfg., boxer primed. .70 oz cased and finned slug. The largest of these, the Warsaw Ghetto, concentrated approximately 300,000–400,000 people into a densely packed, 3.3 km2 central area of Warsaw. Approximately 250,000–300,000 ghetto residents met their deaths at Treblinka during the two-month-long operation in 1942, another thousands in Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943. On 1 August 1944, The Warsaw Uprising began as part of a nationwide Operation Tempest, launched at the time of the Soviet Lublin–Brest Offensive. Our objectives were to drive the Germans out of Warsaw while helping the Allies defeat Germany. The uprising was timed to coincide with the retreat of the German forces from Poland ahead of the Soviet advance. While approaching the eastern suburbs of the city, the Red Army temporarily halted combat operations, enabling the Germans to regroup. Initially, we established control over most of central Warsaw, but the Soviets ignored our attempts to maintain radio contact with them and did not advance beyond the city limits. Intense street fighting between us and the Germans continued. By 14 September, the eastern bank of the Vistula River opposite our positions was taken over by the Polish troops fighting under the Soviet command. 1,200 men made it across the river, but they were not reinforced by the Red Army.

The Soviets assumed this would be a short uneventful battle; however, the Mujahadeen had other plans. The Mujahadeen are guardians of the Afghani way of live and territory. The Soviets went into Afghanistan with the latest weapons to include the AK-74, AKS-74, and AKSU-74, which replaced the venerable AK-47 in the Soviet Arsenals. The Mujahadeen were armed with Soviet-made AK-47s. This twist of fate would prove to be fatal to the Soviets. For nearly 11 years, the Mujahadeen repelled the Soviet attacks with Soviet-made weapons. The Mujahadeen also captured many newer Soviet small arms, which augmented their supplies of weaponry. In 1989, the Soviet Union withdrew from Afghanistan back to the other side of the mountain. The Mujahadeen thwarted a communist take- over with their strong will to resist and the AK-47. This is important to you because it illustrates what an effective weapon the AK-47 is, and in the hands of a well-trained rifleman, what can be accomplished. Importance This is important to you as a Marine because there is not a battlefield or conflict that you will be deployed to, where you will not find a Kalashnikov AK-47 or variant. In This Lesson This lesson will cover history, evolution, description, and characteristics of foreign weapons.

TWILIGHT 2000 Twilight 2000 is a Role playing game set in a fictional future, one where World war 3 began in the late 1990's and eventually slipped into a nuclear exchange changing society as we know it. The players assume the roles of survivors trying to live through the aftermath of the war. Twilight 2000 was published in the mid 1980's by Game Designers Workshop who unfortunately closed their doors in the early 1990's. The copyright was purchased by Tantalus, Inc but there are no stated plans to revive the game. Despite the lack of any new material from a publisher the game continues to expand through the players on websites such as this. This is my contribution to the game, this site will be in a constant state of change, I plan to add material as I get it finished. This will include new equipment, optional rules, alternate game backgrounds and other material as it accumulates, currently I am working on source material for a World war 2 background, but I also have been completing some optional rules of my own as well as modern equipment.
