IDPs-Marib. - BFD - Yemeni Red Crescent -ADRA - YDN - WARD - Al-Ameen Association - NFDHR (IRVD) No Discussion 1 ❖ Welcome and introduction of organizations and foundations: 1 1 Health Cluster team welcomed all partners to a Sub-National health cluster meeting and round the table introduction of partners was done headed by deputy of MoPHP Dr Abdullah Dahan and Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shadadi . 1 1 • The partners were identified and listened to their current interventions and plans for the current year and the obstacles they face. They were thanked for their companies with the MoPHP and its offices in the governorates, and their efforts were 1 appreciated and urged to continue their support and provide more interventions in areas of need. He stressed the need to coordinate and work according to the needs presented by the ministry (GHO) at the end of 2020 as a need plan for 2021 and 1 discussed many problems and clarified some of them and others that will be discussed with the ministry and organizations, and 1 he asked the Health Office and the Health Cluster to raise with obstacles and the governorate’s need of health intervention to find a solution and work on it. 1 • Executive unit and field visit of the partners report were presented about the displaced of Sirwah, which numbered about 1180 host holds, and the partners demanded an urgent response to alleviate the suffering of the displaced and decrease spread of diseases. The update of current interventions of health partners and their plans for 2021. 2 YFC: has a plan to intervene in Al-Shaheed Mohammad Hail Hospital in the Marib city with medical staff and medical equipment. (They were asked to meet with the health office and the partners have activities there to determine the need and avoid duplication). Human access: is planning to resume their activities in 20 health facilities and four mobile clinics in five districts of Marib city, Al- Wadi, Harib, Serwah and Al-Jubah. MSF: has intervention in 8 IDPs camps with two mobile clinics. BFD: has intervention in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department BEmoNIC at AL Shaheed Mohammad Hail Hospital and 26 September, CEmONIC Al-Zour and Al-Otabah Hospital Jabal Murad with incentives and Basic material under UNFPA support. Also have two mobile clinics are working in the IDP camps according to the plan of the Health Office. in addition to that, there is new intervention since the beginning of the year 2021 in four TFC at four districts (Al-Shaheed Mohammed Hail Hospital Marib city, Kara hospital Al-Wadi, 26 September hospital Al-Jubah andHarib hospital – Harib district) supporting by WHO. YDN: 520 manual wheelchairs will be distributed to the handicapped, 260 of which will be in Marib Governorate and 260 will be in Taiz. YMCS: is looking for support to implement project for capacity building of health workers in different health sciences to 120 persons for three-years in seven governorates (Marib Al-Jawf, Sana'a, Shabwah, Hadramout, Al-Bayda and Amran). IOM: is supporting Al-Shaheed Mohammed Hail hospital with the incentives of the medical staff, medical equipment and medications at Emergency ,ICU and outpatient department. Also, the intervention has been started at Al-Wahda Hospital in Al- Husoun with fifty medical staff in Obstetrics and Gynecology department, neonatal ICU and intensive care, and medical equipment will be supplied to support the two hospitals. Is working in four mobile clinics in the IDP camps, regarding GHO plan, and new mobile clinic has been operated for migrant, IDPs and host community. in addition to that, IMCI course has been held for 24 medical staff from different district and the organization is going to conduct a sexual reproductive health and intensive care training of critical cases. As well two community health volunteers training targeting 48 volunteers. The organization is going to renovate the old building of Al-Wahda Hospital in Al-Hosoun. also expand the Al-Sawabin Center in Sirwah with four rooms and two bathrooms, medical incinerator and restore the wall and gate, in coordination with the Health Office under TRU project. The Yemeni Red Crescent: Supporting the Rawdah Health Center at Marib city district with staff and medicines. three ambulances to transport the wounded and dead from conflict areas, distribute body bags and health materials to medical points in conflict areas. their plan is to establish a maternity and childhood hospital according to site detect by GHO and an ambulance with intensive care, Also, he has plan for first aid training for all groups and awareness of the COVID-19 in ten districts. Al-tawasl foundation: they have plan to construct health and furnished and establish an oxygen plant in Kara Hospital and to build and furnish an artificial limb center. Yemen International Development Agency: has plan construction four classrooms at the Health Institute and construction and equipping a health center according the GHO require. For more information on partner interventions, Exel has shared with partners to fill their current intervention and plan for 2021. 3 Review of the health situation and the needs of governate of Health intervention. • There are 106 health units only 61 health facilities partially functioning in primary health care, and the others closed without support. • There are 14 health centers 12 of them also partially work in primary health care, and there are no doctors or laboratories. • There are also 22 hospitals, 6 only partially working with partial support from organizations (in the primary health care), 12 unsupported, and 4 closed due to conflicts or destroyed. • There are more than 130 camps for the displaced, only 66 camps partially covered. • There are approximately 70 intensive care beds with ventilators distributed to hospitals. Unfortunately, only 30 beds are functional. The reason of that there is no support for intensive care specialists despite the urgent need to operate them. • There is no diarrhea center inside the governorate, although Marib Governorate is one of most the governorates that records large number of suspected cholera cases. • There is no equipped laboratory for TB and AIDS cases within the governorate, despite the reports reviewing large numbers. • There are no humanitarian organizations handling surgical cases resulting from conflicts. As the number of surgical cases is more than the capacity of hospitals to absorb. • Nutrition dose and prevention only work in two the district at Sirwah and Marib city, and there is a need for intervention in the rest of the district. Requirement of governate to health intervention • UN and international humanitarian community organizations establish Sub-offices in Marib Governorate to become easy coordinate, contact and quick response. • Providing 4 diarrhea treatment centers (cholera) and 20 oral rehydration corners, as the number of diarrhea cases constitutes 11% of the diseases in the governorate. • Complete the preparation and operation of Maternity and Childhood health departments in 4 major hospitals May 22(AL-Jubah district)- Harib (Harib district)- Al-Abdiya (Abdyia district) and Mahilia (Mahilia district), as there are large host community and IDPs and need urgent support. • Rehabilitation of sanitation for 4 hospitals, and they are in urgent need of rehabilitation, Kara Hospital (Marib city), Harib Hospital, May 22 Hospital, and Al-Shaheed Mohammed Hail Hospital. • There is no isolation center currently working, although an isolation center has been established and furnished, but it needs monthly running cost around 15,000 to 30,000 $. • Providing and operating basic obstetric emergency services in 10 health facilities. The names of the facilities please find attached in the need’s matrix. • Preparation and operational two field hospital one in Jufinah and second one in Al-Rawdah. • Establishing and equipped laboratories to detect and follow up the case of tuberculosis and AIDS in the governorate. • The implementation of UNICEF projects for 2021 in mobile clinics and support for health facilities in Marib Governorate. • 36 health facilities in need of furnishing, providing incentives for health workers, running cost and medicines according to the facility in the need’s Matrix. • Rehabilitating 4 hospitals destroyed by war in three district of Al-Watan Hospital Harib distirct – Al-Shaheed Ahmed Jahza Hospital - Sirwah Hospital Sirwah district and Al Mahjaza Hospital in Majzar district. • Supporting 4 hospitals with equipment, medical supplies and basic medicines, Harib Hospital - Saba Hospital - Jabal Murad Hospital and Al Hazmah Hospital. • Payment of incentives for health workers with UNICEF and the World Health Organization which delayed more than 8 months. • Urging partners to support health facilities outside Marib city district, as the health status there is very bad. • There are no treatments for chronic diseases in the health office or health facilities in Marib Governorate. • Providing rapid test strips for dengue fever, cholera, and malaria, as well as laboratory solutions for testing dengue fever. • Providing transport and culture media for cholera and diphtheria. • Provide medications for malaria, dengue, leishmaniasis and schistosomiasis. • Supporting the Health office with intravenous fluid solutions, paracetamol infusion supplements, and medicines to face infectious diseases in coming season. • Unique incentives for Health workers and payment in Yemeni or Dollars. For more information please find attached Need’s matrix. 5 ➢ Urgent need for support of IDPs in Serwah ❖ There were transforming for the staff and equipment used to be operation is Alzoor Hospital to Al-Rawdah Health Unit, but according to the limited capacity of Alrwdah Health Unit, there is an urgent need for: • 2 – 4 Caravans to expand the unit with fourth bathrooms.
