Kendall A town/locality on the North Coast Railway, 53km N of , Gazetted: 16 Apr 1993 and 21km S of Wauchope. Originally known as Camden Haven. Changed to Kendall on 1 October 1891 after the poet Henry Kendall who lived and worked in the area.

Kendalls Hill Property on Rawdon Island one time owned by Henry Dick Kendall (1861-1950) - 37 acres of land with hill enclosed. Site of Rawdon Island Hall.

Kennedy Drive Port Macquarie. The Kennedy family had land in the vicinity of the present Kennedy Drive where they grew fruit and vegetables in the early decades of the 1900s. Stewart Kennedy was president of the local Agricultural Bureau which was formed on 1940. Kennedys Mountain A plateau rising to the south of Forbes River, about 11.2km W of Birdwood. The top of the mountain was owned by Donald Kennedy. (see The Rise and Fall of Yarras Mill by Winifred Godfrey).

Kew A village/locality about 2km E of the town of Kendall and west of Gazetted: 16 Apr 1993 Laurieton. Originally on the Pacific Highway now bypassed. Originally known as Cross Roads but was renamed after Mr Keough, a Scot who owned the parcel of land from the hotel corner to where the police station was. His surname was corrupted to Kew. Kindee Home of Newman Hollis on Kindee Creek - named after his father’s property in Devon, England - just off Kindee Road near Long Flat. An article in the Hastings Shire Gazette (10 Jun 1976) by Stanley Kennedy of Birdwood says “My father believed that the original name for Kindee was Tindee because some of the early settlers called it that!”

Kindee Close Probably named for the village in the Hastings. The village was given this name by an early settler, Newman Hollis, after his father's property in Devon, England. King Creek A locality about 6km S of Wauchope. The locality of Lake Innes Gazetted: 19 Jan 2007 adjoins to the east. Origin: named the waterway Kings River on 4 October 1818, after marine surveyor . Name changed from Kings Creek to King Creek at the request of residents and Council on 19 January 2007. Previous name Kings Creek, Kings River.

Kingfisher Park An animal park in Port Macquarie that was situated on Kingfisher Road, near Wrights Road, off John Oxley Drive. It opened in 1989 and closed on January 31, 2001.

Kings Point A point in the North Shore of the Hastings River, opposite Gazetted: 29 Jun 1973 Hibbard Ferry, about 3.5km NW of the town of Port Macquarie. Named by R. N. King who purchased the land in 1865. His wife was the daughter of Major William Kemp who came to Port Macquarie in 1837.

Kippara A locality which contains part of the Mount Boss State Forest. Gazetted: 16 Apr 1993 The Wilson River runs through it, and Gearys Flat adjoins to the north. Station on Little’s Loop Road off Glen Esk Road Upper Rollands Plains. Home of Keith Adams 1914 - at Rollands Plains - sold to a man named Wilkinson. New home of Wilkinson (see PMN, 4 Apr 1914) bought from Keith Adams. Name believed to be an Aboriginal word for the initiation ceremony for young warriors.

Kooloonbung Creek A stream rising about 3km NW by W of Transit Hill. It flows Gazetted: 6 Apr 1973 generally NNE for about 3.5km into Hastings River, S of Pelican Island. Previous name Shoal (Arm) Creek. (see A History of Port Macquarie p.32 and a Place of Banishment p.69). Has also been referred to as Coolenbang (Koolenbang) Creek (see Place of Banishment, p 211). Alternate spellings include Coonlonbung, (Koonlonbung), Koolobungan and Koolabung. Possibly of Aboriginal origin with ‘Koola’ meaning water and ‘bung’ a tree. (see PMN, 26 March 1921).

Kooloonbung Dam Gordon St. Port Macquarie - commenced in 1843 - was a dam and a bridge - (see History of Port Macquarie, p.133).

Koorebang Located to the north of Bitter Ground Creek, which flows east Nature Reserve into the Forbes River. Formerly part of Mount Boss State Forest, the reserve is approx. 465 ha in area and was created in 1997.

Kooringal Farm on Thone Creek road 3km NW of Byabarra.

Koppin Yarratt “A bridle track from there to Comboyne 19 Nov 1904”- this was probably on the track up from Kendall as there was no road to Wauchope for some time. Koppin Yarratt road runs from Upper Lansdowne to Comboyne up the escarpment.

Koree Island A rural locality about 2km NE of Huntingdon and about 3km S of Gazetted: 16 Apr 1993 Beechwood. Was called Korrie Korrie which was the Aboriginal word for the name of the Aboriginals in the plural, and Korrie in the singular.

Korikeree Creek Runs E from Cowarra forest across the Pacific Highway to Lake Innes - another name for Five Mile Creek.

Kowara From the Postal Directory of NSW 1832 - Cross Ten Mile creek at the village reserve of Kowara - between 10 Mile Creek and 5 Mile Creek.

Kylies Hut Camping area just south of Diamond Head. Kylies Hut is an historic hut that was built by local man Ernie Metcalfe for Australian author Kylie Tennant who moved to the area during World War II. Kylie used the hut as a writer’s retreat, no doubt using the stunning scenery of the park for inspiration. Ernie Metcalfe, Diamond Head and Crowdy Bay are all portrayed in Tennants's book (See The Man on the Headland).
