The flap of the sachet features an organdie oval, inserted into the linen then appliqued and embroidered with pin stitch, granitos, shadow work, eyelets, seed stitch and padded satin stitch. Child's Duplicate Stitch Sweater Jacket Gail Doane The first part of the class will be spent learning the duplicate stitch on a sample knit swatch. Then we will move on to cutting down and binding an adult size pullover sweater into a charming bound edge child's jacket suitable for a duplicate stitch design. They have a gauge of about 8 stitches per inch (width) by 11 stitches per inch (length). A men's size L (or larger if possible) is an ideal size to work with. THURSDAY 8TH JUNE 9.30AM - 4.30PM Susan O'Connor Broderie Anglaise, or, is characterised by the prolific use of eyelets in varying shapes and sizes and beautifully shaped blanket stitch edges. Both techniques require care and practice to perfect and this class is a wonderful starting point. Eyelets are created by either manipulating or cutting the fabric threads and in this class we will explore the variations as well as working single and multiple eyelets in a design. Plain and padded blanket stitch will also be examined as will other stitches used in this wonderful style of embroidery......

Bunnies and Baby Jacket Gail Doane This simple to construct, fully lined, swing style baby jacket is made from cozy 100% wool Doctor's Flannel. It is embellished in a traditional ivory, pink and blue colour palette. The design features a border of bullion stitch bunnies around the lower edge of the jacket. Tiny hand dyed buttons border the collar, sleeve edges and hemline. The collar, sleeves and hemline are also bound with blue microcheck winter twill. Susan's innovative embroidery and smocking designs are well known to the readers of Inspirations and Australian Smocking & Embroidery magazines. Gail's meticulous work has appeared in Australian Smocking & Embroidery, Sew Beautiful and Creative Needle. Maximum class size - 20 students. All levels. A delicious lunch will be available for $7.00 per day or $25.00 for the four days.
