Closing branding for in-house

This PDF explains the closing sequence requirements for programmes made by BBC departments and gives examples for closing endboards artwork.

Note that only one BBC logo can be included on the closing endboard.

Production end credit

The Production End Credit is a combination of elements. For productions made in:

 England: The end credit is made up from the BBC Logo, Genre and Production Base. Exactly which combination will be defined depending on the programme genre and production base.

 The Nations (BBC Cymru/Wales, BBC and BBC ) the end credit is made from the BBC Logo and Genre. (The individual Nations logos define the base of production therefore no city should be added.)

The BBC logo

The BBC logo must:

 Be the correct version of the animated 'BBC Production' logo

 Be white or black only

 Be centred wherever possible

 Appear over the same background as the other programme credits, or over black

 Not use dropped shadow.

 Always use original files

 Not be your own creation

The exclusion zone

The ‘exclusion zone’ around the BBC Blocks and Production credit should be twice the height of the BBC blocks as illustrated here.

The logo animations can be reduced to 75% of their height/width. It can’t be reduced any further as the accompanying type will become too small, specifically the name of the production base.

All logos and other artwork are available to download from Gateway, the BBC Television Intranet. If you do not have access to Gateway, please liaise with your BBC Production contact.

These examples show how the ‘exclusion zone’ can be applied to the new end credits for network programmes made by the Nations.

Ideally the exclusion zone should be twice the height of the BBC blocks as illustrated here:

Please note that the nations end credit branding principle differs from England as the logo defines the base of production and therefore no city name should be listed
