The artist Denise Hussey is opening an exhibition of paintings in the Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare on Wednesday June 1st from 6 – 8pm. The show continues until the 30th of June. Lofty Connections is inspired by the funeral of Pope John Paul and her own memories of growing up in a convent. This exhibition is a childhood reminiscence of clerical life “...contrary to public opinion my memories are precious: I still remember the rustle of robes and silent soles on polished floors...“. Also on a more abstract spiritual note her other paintings in the exhibition are of vines and her personal response to them as she travelled around Provence.
