DOROTHY: I can go to Oz in my mind anytime I want. I just think of all the people there and I start to feel such a warm glow. And I remember my friends – the – the lion- the who were so kind to me. Once you make friends like that, unless you're very careless, you never lose them. They are never far away. (Shakes head) Just don't talk to me about witches. Witches and I don't mix. They stir up more than potions – they stir up all the bad things of this world. And once those bad things get out and start flying around – well – they're worse than any tornado. Glinda needs my help now – so I have to go back.

PATCHES: Yes, it's true – I'm wonderful. Ever seen such a beautiful creature as me? I'm made from old quilts, tea towels, and some fabric scraps. Ta da! (shrugs) Maybe I'm not dignified. Maybe I say too much what's on my mind – but if it's a sunny day and there's a bit of fun to be had, I'm happy. How could I not be? This world is such a beautiful place – everywhere you look – there's something magical. Like trees and stars and butterflies! (Wobbles) Whoops....I'm not steady on my feet yet. But if I fall down I get right back up and dust myself off. And if I get a few dents in me --(she pats her stuffing back into shape) - well, so what? I think that makes me even more beautiful, don't you?

OJO You're new to this world, Patches. Well, welcome to mine. I'm little, I'm blue and I'm owned by a witch. Life's not a merry-go-round. Clouds can turn gray, people can cross you – you can lose what you love. You don't understand 'cause you're not real. You're just a bunch of rags - held together by stitches and a few stray buttons. But tin rusts. Straw flattens. And Evil can win. We're going up against an army of nomes..... little scary guys with very sharp swords…hundreds of them. Yes, we have Dorothy. But really she's just a nice girl with pretty shoes. So wake up, Patches. This is not a game.
