And he doesn’t have the testicles to stand up denounce what his former colleagues did and were convicted of. If his honesty cannot be called into question certainly his judgment and intelligence can. We actually believe Chauncey’s recorded comments about Williams and if they happen to be true, we would note that Williams’ morals, unsurpris- ingly, appear to be as variable as those of her friends who were convicted. Maybe not felonious—although the figurative jury may still be out on that—but not without a certain smell. And Gates. Her living arrangements alone should be adequate grounds to remove her from office but her shakedown attempt of casino owners which she regulates of some years back should not be forgotten. In all probability these three will have to be dragged kicking and scream- ing from the public scene, but it would be nice if the remaining 42.86% of the most corrupt commission in Clark County history would just quit and go away quietly. It would certainly be the proper thing to do. We won’t hold our breath. One final note. Two other groups need to pay attention to all of this. First is the all-star collection of campaign contributors whose names can be found on each and every one of the disclosure forms filed by each and every one of these commissioners—convicted or not. The Nevada tradition of backing a winner, no matter how bad the stench becomes, left very few prominent names off of the disclosure reports of the convicts. Maybe what passes for business leadership in this state ought to learn to just say no and give nothing to anybody. It is hard for us to imagine why otherwise intelligent business people would associate themselves with these types. Whatever access their con- tributions may buy, the whole process can be described by a line from the movie, Animal House. “Thank you sir, may I have another.” And it’s the contributors who are saying it. And if District Attorney David Roger has any cojones, he will find a way to prosecute on any number of state felonies which she admitted on the witness stand in Federal court. Kenny had a really sweet deal at the federal level. She basically stole $400,000, admitted to it on the stand under oath, and will serve very little time and have to give up almost none of the ill-gotten gains. But we have seen nothing about state immunity. At the very least, the state ought to try and collect the money she stole in a civil forfeiture action. Why Roger has not lifted a finger during these proceedings is totally beyond us. There have been plenty of state laws violated and there are plenty things to investigate. We’ll give Roger the benefit of the doubt with only one question. Why can’t Clark County clean up its own act? For a state as libertarian and independent as we say we are, we sure seem to depend on the Federal government for the darndest things. 1.877.821.9302 THE PENNY PRESS, MAY 11, 2006 PAGE 11 Challenge: Take the biggest, heaviest production passenger vehicle made and make it handle like a sports car. Answer: Rollgard™. Like a lot of people, my life precludes the Porsche 911 Turbo or the Saleen Mustang I might buy if practicality wasn’t a consideration. In my case, kids, mountainous terrain, and a lot of stuff to schlep around pretty much rule out sports cars as an option.

And so, in the last five years, I’ve driven a Four Wheel Drive Ford F-150 and two Four Wheel Drive Ford Excursions. All of them, including the brand new Power Stroke Diesel Excursion, are big, tough trucks with a lot of torque, a lot of power and a lot of space.

The downside is that they all have a fairly high center of gravity and are susceptible to rolling into a turn at highway speeds.

And all of them have been tamed by Rollgard.

My name is Fred Weinberg and I don’t work for Rollgard, which means you can call me at my office, 702-740-5588, and I’ll be glad to give you the benefit of my 170,000 miles of driving with the product.

Simply put, Rollgard is a set of counter springs which keeps the rear wheels firmly planted on the road. It was designed by a race car engineer to give any vehicle with leaf springs (that’s most pickup trucks, Here’s the F-150. We put about vans and many SUV’s) 50,000 miles on it with Rollgard the same kind of han- dling control which a race car can get from the various adjustments you see them make in the pits on race day.

What it does is to allow you to steer the vehicle without constant corrections. In other words, point the vehicle where you want to go and it goes there. Last summer, we tested an Excursion with Yes, the Excursion is big. With Rollgard, it is very well behaved! Rollgard under full safety conditions on closed off pieces of Nevada highways in connection with open road racing events.

We discovered that you could blast this 8,000 pound vehicle down a winding highway at speeds in excess of 95 miles an hour with complete control only using a very light touch on the steering wheel. The professionals behind the wheel were extremely impressed.

Now you’ll probably never have to drive a big, heavy truck like that, but it’s sure nice to know that you could. Because if it handles that well at those speeds, imagine how well it works at regular interstate highway speeds.

The best news is that Rollgard isn’t very expensive. And, because it’s a Las Vegas company, we’ve arranged a special deal for you: Buy it at any of the dealers below and we’ll send you a $25 rebate when you mail us a copy of the paid receipt and the rebate cou- pon from this ad.
