Public Fishing Section of Fraser Flats River Habitat Project Now Open

courtesy photo Willow Harvesting Project The Colorado River Headwaters Chapter of Trout Unlimited completed a willow harvesting project last Saturday, May 19. Over 20 volunteers helped to harvest over 2,000 willows from Ranch Creek, a main tributary to the Fraser River. The willows will be planted on downstream sections of Ranch Creek, and will help to improve habitat, reduce bank erosion, and maintain cooler water temperatures in the creek and river system. The willows will be planted on June 2-3. To volunteer for the planting project, please visit the TU Headwaters Chapter's website at www.coheadwaters.org or visit Facebook. com/SaveTheFraserRiver.
