Hello, Hagelin The Kings acquired forward Carl Hagelin from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Tanner Pearson, Nov. 14. The 30-year-old Hagelin (born August 23, 1988) is a 5-11, 186-pound native of Sodertalje, who has played in 16 games this season with the Penguins, posting three points (1-2=3), a plus-2 rating and 12 penalty minutes. Hagelin has appeared in 504 games over eight seasons in the NHL with the NY Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Anaheim Ducks. He has 225 career points (89-136=225), a plus-85 rating and 220 penalty minutes.

He served as head coach of the Vancouver Canucks for three seasons (from 2014-17). He also served as associate head coach with the Dallas Stars for two seasons (2010-12). He was the head coach for Team Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics. In his first season with the Canucks, they posted a 48-29-5 record and qualified for the playoffs (101 points; second place in the Pacific Division). In three seasons with Vancouver, Desjardins compiled a 109-110-27 record overall. In Dallas, Desjardins served as associate head coach under Marc Crawford, the former Kings head coach, and Glen Gulutzan. He later served as head coach of the Texas Stars (AHL), and helped guide the franchise to the Calder Cup in 2014. Prior to 2010 Desjardins was the head coach of the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) for eight years, highlighted by two WHL Championships. A native of Climax, Saskatoon, Desjardins is 61 years old.
