High School: Graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1992. Three- year letter winner in baseball. Also played basketball and golf. Most Improved award winner in baseball and golf. All-Academic award winner in baseball. College: Redshirted one season at Columbia Basin College. Has attended CWU since 1993, but didn't turn out for baseball until last spring. Has 6-1 career mark with 3.73 ERA. Had 2-0 record with one save in 10 appearances, nine in relief last spring. Wins came over Western Oregon and Puget Sound. Had best outings against Eastern Oregon on Feb. 24 (allowed just three hits and one run in 5 2/3 innings) and Albertson on Mar. 15 (allowed four hits and one earned run in six innings). Also pitched perfect 2 2/3 innings, retiring eight straight batters against Lewis-Clark State on May 11. Held opposing batters to .200 average, best on squad, this spring, in winning four of five decisions, including complete- game wins over Pacific and Whitworth on Mar. 26 and Apr. 2. High School: Graduated from Rogers High School in 1995. Lettered in basketball (2) and baseball (3). Played point guard in basketball. Second team all-league. Team captain. Pitcher and in baseball. Twice earned all-league honors. Had 19-1 career mark and 1.1 earned run average. Was selected Tacoma Athletic Commission Player-of-the-Month. College: Played one season at Tacoma CC prior to enrolling at CWU. Tied CWU school single-season record with 11 victories held by former major leaguer Dave Heaverlo this spring. Also led team in saves (3), innings pitched (88.1), strikeouts (79), earned run average (2.65) and complete games (8). Started season as before being moved into starting rotation. Ironically longest appearance of season was 8 1/3 inning relief stint against Whitworth on Mar. 9. Tied school records for most wins, most appearances (21) and most batters hit with pitch (13). His 79 strikeouts fourth best single-season total in school history. Had season-high 11 strikeouts in 7-6 win over Eastern Oregon on Apr. 23. Completed eight games - one short of school mark - in 10 starts. Four of 11 wins came against St. Martin's, including five- hit shutout on Apr. 19. Beat nationally-ranked Albertson 7-5 on Mar. 29. All-state senior season. Posted 1.91 ERA. Played center in basketball. All-league junior and senior years. Averaged 22 points per game senior season. College: Played two seasons at Centralia CC posting won-loss record of 7-7 prior to transferring to CWU. Had four-game stretch against St. Martin's (Apr. 12-19) during which he had six hits in seven at bats, including one double and three home runs and drove in 13 runs. Played junior season at Portland State before transferring to CWU. Had outstanding season this spring earning Team MVP and All-West Coast honors. Set school single- season records for doubles (22) and base runners thrown out (28). Tied single-game records for doubles (3 vs. Whitworth on Mar. 23) and base runners thrown out (3 vs. St. Martin's on Apr. 29. Ranks on CWU Top 10 single-season lists in four categories, including fifth in hits, first in doubles, seventh in total bases (84) and sixth in putouts. Began season with 15-game hitting streak, fourth longest in school history. Had four-hit, four-RBI game against Whitworth on Mar. 23. Also had four three-hit games. High School: Graduated from Sequim in 1994. Lettered in baseball (4) and basketball (1). Twice earned all-league honors at first base. Earned all-league pitcher honors one season. Played guard in basketball. College: Played two seasons at Tacoma CC. Twice earned all-league honors at first base (second team one year and first team one year). Led Wildcats in hitting this spring with .420 average, becoming the 10th player in school history to bat .400 in a single season. His .420 average was sixth best mark in school history. Also led squad in walks, slugging percentage, putouts), on-base percentage (.579), double plays and fielding percentage. Putout total was highest in school history, breaking 27-year-old record of 276 set by CWU Hall-of-Famer Bill Walker in 1970. Walk total ranks second in school history. Double play total ranks third. Sacrifice bunt total third highest single-season total in school history Assist and error totals rank third and second, respectively, on all-time single-season lists.
