Today’s walk starts in Sedbergh. We will take paths in a NE direction until we can climb the south ridge of Great Dummacks. From here we will contour above to . We will descend the north ridge and pick up a footpath which takes us back to Sedbergh over The Calf and Calders. Distance: 20.8 kms (13 mls); Ascent: 1250m (4,125 ft); Walk Points: 21.5 B Plus Walk Points range 14-18

From Sedbergh CP we follow River Rawthey NE to Cautley then ascend NW to Cautley Spout and on to Dales Highway. We then follow the ridge SW to The Calf, Calders and Arant Haw before descending back to Sedbergh. On a clear day it will be a wondrous introduction to B+ walking on the Howgills. Distance: 16kms (10 mls); Ascent: 800m (2,500ft); Walk Points: 15.5 B Minus Walk Points range 11-14

This hill walk for summitteers climbs an undulating ridge, with ascents/descents on clear paths. Leaving Sedbergh we ascend 400m NE to the ridges of Winder and Arant Haw for lunch at Rowantree Grains. 45 mins. later & 100 metres higher we reach the summit of The Calf (676m.) Retracing our steps SW to Rowantree, we traverse Arant Haw and Winder, looping south and east to Lockbank Farm and Sedbergh. 360 degree panoramic views! Distance: 14 kms (8.5mls); Ascent: 700m (2300ft); Walk Points: 13 C Walk Points range 7 -11

From Sedbergh we head SW to Birks along the river east to Straight Bridge. Turning south we reach and walk east to Dovecote Gill. We turn north on a gentle ascent through fields to eventually descend to cross Hebblethwaite Hall Gill and ascend to the Hall. We turn west to briefly follow the A683 to Straight Bridge. Here we retrace our earlier steps until just after New Bridge where we turn north back into Sedbergh. This is an undulating walk with fine views of the Howgills. Distance: 13 kms (8 mls); Ascent: 275m (900ft); Walk Points: 10 D Walk Points range 5-7

Starting in Sedbergh by coach park a short road climb north, we now head west to reach the via Lockbank Farm, Howgill Lane, Underwinder & Prospect House. At the river we join the going south as far as The Oaks where it turns beast back to Sedbergh via the River Rawthey, Birks and a path across school grounds.
