Participation at the UN Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Day and Training Workshops From 26 – 28 June 2019, representatives of the Ministry took part in an international event under the theme of ‘Unlocking the potential of MSMEs to Contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals’.

The Ministry presented on Fiji’s experience designing policies to promote the development of MSMEs. In particular, frank discussions were held with 6 other countries with similar MSME sectors to further improve policies. The sessions were designed to help improve the ‘MSME ecosystem’ for National Governments by sharing the experiences of each country, particularly what has and has not worked for their small firms. In addition, the Ministry was able to learn from the experiences of the International Council of Small Businesses and donor partners.
