During the Aggies’ 2015-16 season, Utah State recorded nine top-10 finishes, including two top-five placings with a season-best second-place finish at the OGIO Utah Invite where the Aggies shot a season-best 15-under 837 (278-279-280). Jo- hansen also guided a pair of Aggies to two top-10 finishes as Seokwon Jeon won the OGIO Utah Invite, while Jenson placed third at the same event and finished eighth at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. For Jeon, it was his third-career event title, which are the second-most titles in school history. Off the course, Utah State had three golfers earn Cleveland Golf/Srixon All- American honors in Jeon, Jenson and Rogers. USU also had golfers earn academic all-Mountain West honors during the 2015-16 season, as well as three being named Mountain West Scholar-Athletes. During the 2014-15 season, Utah State recorded nine top-10 finishes, including three top-five places, highlighted by winning the Weber State-hosted Battle in the Tetons in Victor, Idaho, by carding a 7-under 857 (294-276-287) for its first tourna- ment win since 2009. Johansen also coached a trio of Aggies to second-place indi- vidual finishes during the season as Jenson placed second at the Battle in the Tetons, Jeon finished second at the BYU-hosted PING Cougar Classic as he was named the Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Week, and Grahm Schmaltz placed second at the Southern Utah-hosted Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational.

Along with all of its success on the course, Utah State also had six golfers hon- COACHES/STAFF COACHES/STAFF ored for academic excellence during the 2014-15 season as six student-athletes earned academic all-Mountain West honors, while four were named Mountain West Scholar-Athletes. During Utah State’s 2013-14 season, Johansen coached a pair of Aggie golfers to back-to-back tournament wins as Tanner Higham shot an 8-under 205 (71-67- 67) to win the Boise State-hosted Dash Thomas Memorial, while Jeon shot a 7-un- der 206 (67-71-68) to win the Utah Invitational the following weekend. Furthermore, Higham became the first Aggie golfer in school history to be named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar.

AGGIE PROFILES AGGIE In 2012, Utah State notched eight top-10 finishes, while Higham tied for eighth at the Western Athletic Conference Championships with a 5-over 221. In 2010, Utah State had four top-five finishes including winning the 2009 Utah Collegiate Shootout. In 2009, Johansen led the Aggies to a fourth-place team finish at the WAC Championships, with both Devin Daniels and Tyler Labrum finishing in the top 10. That fourth-place finish for USU was its best since placing fourth at the 1997 Big West Conference Championships. The Aggies also finished in the top 10 as a team in seven of the tournaments they participated in during the 2008-09 season. In 2007, Johansen coached Daniels to a second-place individual finish at the WAC Championships as the sophomore carded a 7-under 209 with rounds of 69, 66 and 74. In his first season as Utah State’s head coach, Johansen led the Aggies to a sixth- place team finish at the 2001 Big West Conference Championships, which was the best finish by a USU team in six years. Johansen graduated from Utah State University in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He prepped at North Sanpete High School in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Johansen is married to the former Laura Hafen and the couple has four boys,

INTRODUCTION

Erik Skinner is in his sixth season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordina- tor at Utah State. Skinner, who is the assistant golf professional at the Logan Golf & Country Club, spent 18 years as an assistant PGA professional at the Logan River Golf Course and nine seasons as head coach of Logan (Utah) High School’s boys golf program. He is a Class A member of the PGA of America since 2010. In Skinner’s fifth season with the Aggies, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, USU captured one tournament title and five top-10 finishes. Utah State won the Southern Utah-hosted Pat Hicks Thunderbird In- vitational with a 3-under 573. It marked USU’s first tournament win since Oct. 17, 2017, when it claimed the tournament title at the Cal State Northridge- hosted Bill Cullum Invitational.
