Programme Title English Proficiency Programme for Academics
Programme Description This programme is intended for learners who want to gain confidence in using academic English in an overseas environment. It is directed at individuals who have already acquired a basic knowledge of English and the emphasis is on listening and speaking skills using academic English.
Addi onally, this programme provides English learners with the opportunity to sharpen the fi h skill in language learning (i.e.: culture), coupled with effec ve communica on skills.
This programme is learner-centred and requires personal commitment both in the classroom and when in learning ac vi es outside the classroom; learners are encouraged to interact and socialise using English by pu ng it into prac ce, and par cipa ng in programmes organised to complement the learning experience.
Learning Objectives By the end of the programme, learners should be able to: * improve the basic four skills of learning English, with an addi onal fi h skill in cross-cultural communica on * apply gramma cal understanding in order to evaluate spoken English and wri en texts * develop and improve their English listening and speaking skills in the academic sense * develop and improve work-related communica on skills in the academic sense
Learning Outcomes Upon successful comple on of the programme, learners will: * have an ability to interact and communicate confidently in English in any given situa on * have a higher level of competence in speaking and listening, including grammar and vocabulary within any given context * improved presenta on and public speaking skills * a heightened sense of apprecia on for diversity and cross-cultural living
Level Beginner to Intermediate Mode of Delivery Face-to-face ac ve learning class me, classroom discussion/par cipa on, hands-on outdoor training ac vi es and peer learning prac ces.
Duration Eight weeks
Learning Hours For 8 weeks, learners will a end four hours of English classes each day, consis ng of two hours of class in the morning, and two hours in the a ernoon. There shall be three weekend trips organised.

Certificate Awarded At the end of the programme, learners will be awarded the Cer ficate of A endance by UCSI University. *Note: The programme is subject to change and Centre for Languages, UCSI University reserves the right(s) to amend the programme above based on availability and weather condi on(s). Programme fee The fee per learner for this Programme is as follows:

Note: In category 1, up to 30 learners = USD 4,455. (USD 4,455 x 30 = USD 133,650). * Should the actual turn out be below 30, the base fee of USD 133,650 applies. In category 2, if the agreed number of learners is 35, but only 32 turned up, the base fee of 35 learners applies. (The fees above are inclusive of the new 6% GST imposed)

We have a dynamic team of 15 instructors (both na ve and second language speakers) from various backgrounds who are experienced and deliver only the best lessons. Their best quali es include giving individual a en on to each par cipant, while giving them the space to grow in their own ways.
