The brass work is not in much practice due to high cost of raw material ✓ The main area where units are located are Jagadhari Railway road, Jaroda gate, Jesco colony, Gopi Sankar link road, Mukherji Nagar, Nanakpur Industrial area, Hanuman gate, New Chhachhrauli Road & Kalyan nagar etc. ✓ Maximum units are functioning from 15 to 20 years ✓ Majority of the units function in one shift and the units are using local technology, largely the entire work is manual in certain cases its mechanised. There are a handful of units in Main Bazar & Gauri Shankar Road wherein 4/6 units are there which are having an furnace and rolling mills for making Aluminum & SS sheets ✓ In case of units making utensils, the energy cost is hardly 5% of the total production cost as they are using hand tools and Molds, Frames for preparing the utensils of different sizes & shapes. The units which are making sheets there the Energy cost is 12 to 15% of total production cost. ✓ The Jagadhri metal and brass industry is facing a crisis because of the irrational policies of the state and Central Governments. earlier there was only 1 per cent Central Sales Tax (CST) on this trade which was enhanced to 2 per cent and now it is 4 per cent. The state government had declared this industry as small scale industry whereas the Central Government did not provide any such facilities under the SSI. This industry was paying heavy duty so it could not compete with the large scale industries. Electricity Supplied by Haryana State Electricity Board. Power available 12 to 15 hr regular & the per unit rate starts from Rs. 4.50/- ACNielsen ORG-MARG Raw Material ❖ Main Raw Materials such as metal scrap, sheets, billets and ingots.
