Organization’s 10th Anniversary is celebrated with great joy, enthusiasm; full of energy and heart filled celebrations by the staff team shared it with the children.

The organization passed one decade in the service of the children by various welfare activities.

As per the Chinese proverb “ If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; If you are planning for a life time, educate people”. We are trying to educate the people through our organization activities.

On 5th September, the starting the of the festivals Ganesh Chathurthy is celebrated with full of joy and habitually celebrated. The clay Ganesh idol brought home, the children offered the available grass garland and fruits. The children are express their interest to celebrate the festival with big paper mould Ganesh Idol, considering the children request this year a big idol brought and the children celebrated it in a grand manner. Then the children are taken to the other center (Avalurpet & Gingee) celebration. In this celebration the children of Rainbow Life Children Home Children & Staff are also came and joined in the celebration. The Learning Centre and the temple are decorated with mango leaves, banana samplings, variety typical food items are made, worshipped and distributed to the children. The children are taken care of the complete pooja and the worship. On 15th August the children are participated in the Independence Day Celebration by Rotary Club, in Ranga Marriage Hall. The children performed their extra talents in Karate, Yoga and Dance. They are appreciated with prizes. The Rotary club offered a gift hamper to the children consist of stationeries (Pen, Pencils), personal hygienic things (soap, oil) along with a special food to the children.

Hariksha Learning Centre Independence Day celebration is celebrated in a grand manner. The children and all the staff team member participated in the celebration. The day is started with Tamil Prayer song, the National Flag is hoisted by the Managing Trustee followed by National Anthem. All are provided with sweets. The children performed cultural stage shows, the child Ponmudi disguised as a father of the nation Mahathma Gandhi and he told the Thirukural couplets. R. Manigandan spoken about the independence, freedom fighters, the child Rajeswari came as the mother of nation. Prabagaran disguised as Lord Krishna.

The children Gunapriya & Prabagaran are danced for the classical dance cinema song, Gokula kannan draw the National Flag by his leg and coloured it using the brush by his mouth. All the children are felt very happy and exposed their talents.

23rd August, the political party (IJK Party) president’s birthday Tiruvannamalai District celebration is organized in our home. Children participated in various cultural programs and won prizes.

Saraswathi Pooja & Ayudha Pooja is celebrated as a tribute to the equipments and educational stationeries. The vehicles are decorated, the houses are cleaned, the equipments are cleaned and made array in pooja room. The children are pray for a good education, given their respect to the equipments which is useful to their day to day lives.

Outing

Our well wisher Mr.Ravi (ABAN offshore company) – , offered the fun filled, enjoyable trip to VGP Universal Kingdom theme park. VGP Universal Kingdom is one of the most popular and fun-filled amusement parks, located in the , Chennai. The children are taken to the theme park to make them fun filled.

The children are enjoyed the Jumping Frog, Circus Train, Kangaroo, Alluding, Mini Pirate Ship, Tiny tots express, Rock & Roll, Roller Coaster, Go cart and many other fun filled games.

Then the children enjoyed their time by playing in the sea, waves. The outing made the children to refresh, enjoy and to make them stress free. The lunch and the dinner is organized in the hotel.

Rainbow Life Children Home Diwali

The festival gives happiness to the children; particularly Diwali makes them very happy because this festival gives them new dress, crackers, special food and many others.

We took our children to a good readymade garment shop (Chakaravarthy Readymades), the children chose their dresses.

Each children received new dress along with one box of crakers, also we make spl sweet for them for the diwali celebration, The children felt very happy to have their dress according to their selection.

Inspection

On 14th September, the team consist of District Child Protection Officer and two other staff visited our home and they checked the infra structure, the cleanliness, files and other. During the visit Mrs.Kokila DCP officer provided stitched 2 set uniform to higher education studying children.

Again on 19th Septembter Ms. Sujatha from DCPO Office bring the 4 new children and made admitted them in our home. New Admission

On 9th September four children named 1. Kesavan, 2nd Standard, 2. Annamalai – 2nd Standard, 3. Manigandan – 5th Standard and 4. Iyyappan – 5th Standard are admitted in our home through the order by the Child Welfare Committee, Tiruvannamalai. These children already under the care and protection of by a Government Children Home, as the children home now converted as a girls home, so these 4 children are transferred to our home for the further care and protection.

Restoration

Prabagaran & Banupriya are shared the information to their father that the college fee is pending for their studies. The father came and enquired about the status of his children’s higher educational support. We informed him that at present we paid an initial amount as soon as we get the fund we will pay the balance fee. The father expressed his willing that he would like to take care of his children and their education. Considering the request of the father and the education the children are restored with the father on 19th October.

From 8th September to 23rd September the quarterly examination are took place for the 10th & 12th Standard Students.

For the students 3rd Standard to 9th Standard the 1st midterm examination commenced on 18th September and completed on 23rd September. The children had 10 days holidays after the examinations.

On 3rd October the quarterly and 1st Midterm results are announced. The children are provided with the new books for the 2nd term.

The 10th Anniversary of Hariksha Learning Centre is celebrated on 7th September 2016. The 10 year service is celebrated with cakes, sweets and snacks. The children are enjoyed the celebration, all the children are provided with the sweet and snacks pack to their houses.

The staff felt very happy, proud and they felt ownership that the Hariksha Day Care Center is providing its service and rehabilitation to the special need children for the last 10 years.

The State Government food grant support received on 24.08.2016, for Rs. 2,27,500/-

The Food Grant, Teacher’s Grant proposal application is filled and 3 sets made ready. 1 set is sent to the Government and one set is handed over to the District Differently Abled Office and one set is kept as a office copy in our centre.

To scrutinize our Food Grant Application & Teacher’s Grant application the District Differently Abled Welfare Officer visited our Day Care Centre on 23rd September. The officer ensured all the facilities, the number of the children present, staff details, the facilities provided to the children. The officer verified the Children Attendance, Staff Attendance, Admission Record, Therapy Daily Report and the monthly reports and signed in it.

The DDAWO appreciated our team for the good performance and service to the children. In Villupuram District, Hariksha Learning Centre is catering its service to the severely affected children, the service to rehabilitate the children is very good. V.DISE meeting

On 16th of September the V. Dise meeting is took place in BRC Office, Melmalayanoor. In this meeting all the Block primary school teachers are participated in this meeting. We are represented our learning centre and participated in this meeting. This meeting is routinely conducted for the last 11 years. 30th September is the V.DISE day.

On 6th August 2016 the parents, teachers consultative meeting took place, in this meeting 22 parents are participated.

 The information shared to the parents that we plan to start the vocational training – Sanitary Napkin production unit to the Gingee Home girls, same like this we plan to start the vocational training in Avalurpet also, the proposal is to start a brick lane factory, paper cup machine, plate making machine, water can producing machine, etc., and small shops and few other according the marketing of the local areas, our main expectation is the parents co-operation.

 We had discussion with the parents of Purushothaman, Periaswamy, R. Manigandan, Marudhupandy, that they are growing, so we plan to make vocational training to the boys

 It was analyzed that trained parents are not doing therapy to their children, so we insist them to do therapy to their children and help other children also if needed.

 The information shared to the parents that the speech therapy session plans to start in coming days,

 Gokul’s parents is not attending the meeting, so warning message is forwarded to them

 The curriculum is explained to the parents and also informed them that the children are not normal. So we should not expect the normal children performance in the special day care centre.

 Gokula Kannan’s parents are not doing therapy in their house.  Deepak is doing 4 digit mathematics, it is a great achievements of the children, so we should appreciate the children

On 3rd September the Parents Teacher meeting organized.

 In this meeting 22 parents / relatives are participated  It is very happy that the parents are started to express about their children’s status, the needs to develop / rehabilitate.  Muniappan mother is very much happy to share the improvements of her son, her wish is that her son need to walk independently.  As the climate is changing, many children had health problems (Seasonable sickness), for which in our Learning Centre we are providing the herbal health drink to all the children regularly. We taught to the parents how to prepare the drink and serve it to the children. This drinks helps the children to improve the immune power.  All the parents are requested to spend half a day to know about their child’s evaluation report and next quarter goal.  The information shared that in two months time the speech therapy training session is going to happened, for which the interested parents can participate in it.

On 15th October the Parents teacher consultative meeting took place.

 In this meeting 14 parents only attended  After the usual discussion we were discussed about the new initiative, as discussed in the last meeting the vocational training is started this month. The elder children are trained to produce the sanitary things – Phenoyl, Washing Liquid and washing whitener (Blue).  We explained to the parents how their children are producing the sanitary things, the interested parents are joined us to produce the sanitary things along with their children. According to the marketing need in their villages, they can produce it and market it. At present we offered the parents to buy the sanitary liquids for their own usage. We tried to start a vocational activities for the children. With the parents support and as per the marketing strategy we can increase the production. Shalini’s father got 5 liters of the sanitary liquid, the parents are informed that they will collect and give the empty plastic water can for container of the sanitary liquids.

Staff Meeting

 The staff are instructed that they have to share the achievement and improvement of the children to the visitors and supporters precisely and accurate

 The evaluation has to complete before 15th of September, the staff has to call and discuss with each and every parent and their next level goal has to finalize before 15th of next month.

 The local contribution feed back and follow up has to be updated as needed

 The staff has to plan for the vocational training of the children according to the village market

 The interested parents for the speech therapy has to inform and the training will be start in a short while

 The staff are informed that in coming days the Learning Centre will be operate during Saturdays also

The meeting conducted on 15th October 2016, all the staff are participated in this staff meeting.

 The staff are instructed to define the next quarterly goal of the children  The information shared that the local contribution, parents contribution become less. So the staff are sensitized to follow up the local sponsors and the parents.  Repeatedly it is guided to the staff team members that the teachers has to discus with the parents about the children development, achievement, rehabilitation improvement, therapy and many other things. Through which we can motivate the parents.  The staff are instructed to keep clean of the campus, each and every class room and areas has to be maintain clean & neat.  Informed to the staff that the things in the Pre-primary section need to arrange in the box  The staff are guided to use the appropriate flash cards, peg boards and the educational materials.

In August month the first 2 weeks is taught for making the ear rings decoration (sticking the color beads, long beads, etc.,)

The third & fourth week is trained to make the garland. To make a garland needs 20 flowers, the flower making and all other works are done by the girls.

In September the girls Subasree, Nilavarasi, Kirupa, Arthy, Rogini & Nithya are practicing the ear ring works.

In the third & fourth week they learned how to make dollar for the garlands.

In October the Garland Finishing touch and the earrings production training made for the girls. Outing

The girls are taken to the nearby temple on 7th August, the girls are enjoyed much.

On 25th August the girls are taken to the King’s Fort (historical monument) in Gingee, the girls are enjoyed the mountain climbing, it is a different outing for them.

Diwali celebration:

The Diwali in the Adult Girls Home Gingee is celebrated with great joy. All the girls are provided with new dresses and crackers. The festival of light is celebrated with new dresses and crackers on 27th of October – 16

Maintenance

In September, the fans in the room are replaced in the hall, the fan in the hall is making noise.

On 5th October 2 new fan is purchased and installed in the Girls room and one fan wire re- winding made and fixed in the home and another fan bearing is replaced and fixed for the girls usage.

The house owner made new bore well for the water supply

The overhead water tank is cleaned.
