Summary of the Exhibition

In Japanese art, the moon is an object of appreciation and faith. It appears in Yamato-e paintings, Indian ink paintings and ukiyo-e prints, and is also a motif in various crafts. This exhibition -with the main theme being the moon -will showcase items such as paintings, maki-e lacquerware, ceramics, sword harnesses and armor, and examine the penchant for the moon that Japanese people has displayed for

Exhibition The clear and mysterious moonlight – various works of the moon in the Japanese art Dates Saturday 8 October 2016 – Sunday 20 November 2016 Early term : Saturday 8 October - Sunday 30 Latter term : Tuesday 1 November - Sunday 20 ※Some, exhibition replacement. Hours 10:00 to 18:00 (last entry is 17:30) ※until 20:00 on Fridays ((last entry is 19:30) Admission fees General Admission: ¥1,000 (¥800), College Students: ¥800 (¥640), High School Students : ¥500 (¥400), Elementary School Students: ¥100 (¥80), Persons over Sixty: ¥500 (¥400) ※The fees in parentheses are per person for a group of ten or more people and for city residents. ※Admission is free for elementary and junior high school students on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays. ※On Fridays, admission is free for city residents (please show something to verify your address). ※Admission is free for persons with disabilities and one person accompanying a person with a disability (please show your disabled person’s handbook or the like).
