Behavioral Health Technician Course:

• Students will explore the basic etiology, symptoms, and interventions for common behavioral and mental health disorders.

• Students will experience the environment of a behavioral healthcare setting while practicing basic care to clients experiencing common behavioral and mental health issues.

Behavioral Health Technician Course • Students will receive a Behavioral Health Technician Certificate upon completion of course B. • There is currently no state examination for BHT Certification. Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)-Future Health Professionals is a global student led organization providing unique classroom experiences and opportunities in the health professions with enhanced leadership development and recognition opportunities for career-minded students in middle school, high school, postsecondary and collegiate institutions.

The Competitive Events Program is designed to motivate HOSA members and provide a system for recognizing the competencies developed by members through Health Science and Biomedical Science class instruction, related job training, and HOSA related activities. Core Credits • The Behavior Health Technician Course leads to .5 CTE Credits and .5 English core credits.

Concurrent Enrollment Credits • Students who complete the application to Pueblo Community College will receive 7 college credits. • You can transfer these credits to other colleges, you do not need to attend PCC to benefit from them.
