From Macomb Directions from Macomb: South on Rt 67 to Industry. At school on south edge of town, go Left (east) on Vermont black top (300 N). Go 5 miles to 2100E. Turn right (south). Go 1.5 miles to 150 N. Turn Left. (east) Go .5 miles, turn right (south) on 2150 E and proceed one mile to 50 N. Turn right (road turns to gravel here) go .25 miles to 2125 E. Turn left. This is dead end road. Follow road to last house (third house). You have arrived—Brown Ranch loop drive.

 Bring: Sack lunch, PPE; participants do not need to bring their own chainsaws

U of I Extension Forestry’s Chainsaw Safety Training Instructor:

 Instructor Bio: Jim Kirkland, professional and Interim Director of the IL Forest Resource Center at U of I’s Dixon Springs Agricultural Center, has been teaching chainsaw safety since the 1990’s. Jim was a Game of ™ instructor at Southeastern Illinois College where he taught FOR 233—Timber Felling. Jim has received professional chainsaw training through the following national and state recognized programs: Soren Eriksson’s Game of Logging™, NWCG’s S-212 Wildland Fire Chainsaws, Kentucky Master Logger program, and Missouri’s Professional Timber Harvester program. Jim received his forestry degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
