Senior’s Report Sponsors I am very pleased with the turn out and commitment of players during the pre season training, numbers have been strong. I am also looking forward to work- ing with this group as senior coach for the second year. The improvement in the core group has been outstanding, this together with the inclusions of recruits such as Ben Edwards (Ballarat) Sam Wood (Pearcedale) Alex Mathewson (EFL) James Dawkins. We also welcome back to the club Ryan Jencke, Aaron Rixon, Chris Baker, Nick Gooda. We also have talented juniors that will make their mark in senior footy this season namely James Cameron, Adrain Speedy & Jack Dixon. The club has also bolstered coaching ranks with the inclusion of Matt Benwell as 2nds coach, Paul Simpson as senior assistant coach & Andrew Clarke (Pines) as chairman of selectors. I also look forward to working close with new Colts coach Mark Paganoni. I am expecting to see improvement on the field in the seniors & reserves for season 2011. There has been encouraging signs with practice matches indicating that the club is starting to gain depth again. I would like to acknowledge the behind the scenes efforts of the committee in getting our season of to a flyer, every club needs these people. All players are positive about 2011 so lets get the support back on the hill and create some noise. Josh Beard.

Under 18’s Report

The Under 18’s have completed a very extensive and successful Pre Season training and practice match regime and are now very much focused on the commencement of the ―home and away‖ segment of the competition. The Under 18 playing list totals 57 registered players, comprising 32 second and third year players and 25 first year players. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new players and their families to Mornington Football Club and hope their association with the Club is a long and enjoyable experience. Congratulation to Jack Dickson who has been appointed Captain of the Under 18’s for 2011. He will be ably supported by Vice Captains – Hayden Cameron and Brendon Reidy. The Colts have a new Coach this year in Mark Paganoni and whilst Mark is new to the role, he is not new to Mornington, as he is a past player, Club President and Life Member. Mark is an exciting and knowledgeable addition to the coaching and support group. The Under 18’s are also very fortunate to have Kerry Debernardi and Dale Cameron back to continue their vital and respective roles within the team. The playing group have set clear goals for the season ahead, which they are committed to achieving. Each year of Under 18’s is not a re-invention of the past but a new set of experiences built on the fabric and foundations of those who have gone before. We look forward to the year ahead – to create not copy, to inspire positive action, not just to act positively. John Sloan

Annual Luncheon The season kicked off last week with the 35th Annual Luncheon at the Mornington Racecourse sponsored by Mornington Garden Supplies.

Over 200 members and sponsors enjoyed a three course meal with drinks a plenty! Thanks to Mr Dick Custerson who was MC for the afternoon from A Positive Moves. Entertainment for the afternoon was Hawthorn Goal kicking great and man with the best smile in AFL, Bulldog champion Brad Johnson and didn’t the ladies just love him and maybe some fellows too. We also had two stand up comedians in Des Dowling and George McEncore who had us all laughing with two very dif- ferent routines. Denis Matthews bought out his silky moves as Auctioneer and the crowd could not resist with signed jumpers of the guest AFL champions going for a very modest price which the club were ecstatic about. We also had a TV for auction which was donated by Clive Peeters and there was great memorabilia in the silent auctions with nearly all being sold which is a great result and we can not thank all enough who bought on the day.

A big thank you has to go out to Mick Wunderley who puts on this premier event each year and he works tire- lessly to make it all happen, so thank you Mick.

If you missed out this year and want to be on the list for next year then please drop us an email at the club and we will put your name on the mailing list so you don’t Mr Michael Wunderly! miss out.
