Smith & Wesley, Choices & Chances CD From the North Georgia/Chattanooga, Tennessee area, the Smith & Wesley sound is driven by two CAT: brothers, Scott and Todd Smith. Felice Clemente Trio, 6:35 AM CD The Felice Clemente Trio’s latest 6:35 AM was awarded four stars by Downbeat. This Italian CAT: saxophonist’s tenth album looks forward while revering the past. The ingredients for “popular jazz” are all CDS010 present: recognizable themes, dancing rhythms, colorful timbers, rich expressivity. But with them comes a LABEL: Appaloosa Records willingness to improvise, inventing a new pathway that arrives at a common sonic destination. This is a UPC: 8033897670096 superb album. PRICE: $19.99

Bocephus King & Orchestra Familia, The Illusion of Permanence CD This new album by the Canadian original dreamer and songwriter, Bocephus King is titled Illusion of CAT: Permanence. Bocephus King strives for a wiser songwriting full of details and quotes that takes the AP 181-2 listener by hand and follows him through a labyrinth of mirrors and illusions with an evocative and LABEL: Appaloosa Records dramatic soundtrack. Chris Cacavas & Edward Abbiati, Me And The Devil CD Appaloosa presents the new album from the former Green On Red keyboardist, Chris Cacavas, with the CAT: Lowlands leader, Edward Abbiati, featuring long time friends: Mike Brenner, Winston Watson, David AP 176-2 Henry, Richard Hunter, Stefan Roller and Andres Villani. Cacavas says: "I am as proud and pleased what LABEL: Appaloosa Records we have achieved with this record as I am with anything else I've ever made in my career". The album was UPC: 8012786017624 recorded in five days in an old barn just outside Pavia. Mike Coykendall, Half Past, Present Pending CD Veteran songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Coykendall is best known as a sideman, CAT: producer, and recordist via his work with M Ward, Blitzen Trapper & Richmond Fontaine to name a few, FnG027 but he has also been making his own unique outsider records since the mid '80s. His latest takes the LABEL: Fluff and Gravy Records listener closer to his live performances, using the "rig”, his one man live set-up, consisting of on oversized UPC: 857674003437 Kay electric guitar, a tin can kick drum and a huge set of high-hat cymbals, all mixed in with lots of reverb, PRICE: $12.99 delay and crunch. The record itself mixes excellent new compositions with some from his back catalogue with fresh interpretations of other writers songs (he covers Roger Miller, Syd Barrett, etc) to great effect.

Cutrufello, Mary, Faithless World CD Mary Cutrufello is a blast of energy and talent. She signed with Mercury Records at the end of ‘90s and CAT: recorded with Benmont Tench and Kenny Aronoff, travelled far and wide throughout the States with AP 179-2 Springsteen E Street Band member Danny Federici, Neil Young and Jimmie Dale Gilmore until she had LABEL: Appaloosa Records to stop due to health issues. With her 2008 comeback album, 35, Mary gave us a great record with UPC: 8012786017921 beautiful songs, good rock vibes and a perfect return to her firm rock and soul mix with powerful PRICE: $13.99 sensibility. Now, Mary’s new Faithless World connects her to Texas soul, with a real rock ‘n’ roll blast and country tinges.

Desert Noises, 27 Ways CD Recorded in the magical Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso, Texas, with producer Nick Jodoin (Black Rebel CAT: Motorcycle Club), 27 Ways turns those experiences into songs which detail 27 ways of breaking away and KCR002 becoming a touring rock 'n' roll band. The album incorporates influences of beat-oriented soul and R&B as LABEL: Kid Canvas well as classic (Led Zeppelin is a big touchstone), often in the same song. Jono Manson, Angels on the other side CD/DVD Angels on the other side is a marvelous record, suspended between rock and folk, driven by a brilliant CAT: game of electric and acoustic guitar that highlights Manson’s timbre, often compared to that of John Hiatt. AP 173-2 Jono is accompanied by the young Texas rock band The Shurman, who add an additional breath of fresh LABEL: Appaloosa Records air. Máscaras, Máscara vs. Máscara CD Portland's #3 Best New Band of 2015 (according to the Willamette Week), Máscaras' Theo Craig, Papi CAT: Fimbres and Carlos Segovia are three of the most prolific in Portland, between them having PDX-011 played in some of the city's most legendary bands over the years, including Sun Angle, Deer or the Doe, O LABEL: Party Damage Records Bruxo, Cat Hoch, Paper/Upper/Cuts, Orquestra Pacifico Tropical, and literally dozens more. Tom Dyer's New Pagan Gods, History of Northwest Rock Vol. 1 1959-1968 CD Tom Dyer is a Pacific Northwest fellow---a rather noisy one.
