HOW TO ΑRRIVE AT RETHYMNO

Chania airport RETHYMNO Heraklion airport

By Airplane

There are two airports on the island of Crete, the airport of Chania (CHQ), (http://www.chania- airport.com), about 70km from Rethymno and the airport of Heraklion (HER) (http://www.heraklion-airport.info),about 85km away, which gives many alternatives for international flights.

TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORT

From Chania Airport • By Bus, there is a direct line from Chania Airport to Rethymno, currently the daily trips are limited but they may increase during high season. Otherwise you will have to take the bus to the bus station at Chania (approximately travel duration 20 minutes) and then you will catch the bus to Rethymno (regular lines per hour). With this option you can evaluate the public transport services. The timetable change from time to time, so do make sure to check just before your arrival. • Car Rental, you may rent a car from the airport (approximately 40€ per day depending the car rental company). • By Taxi, the rate is approximately 80 – 85€, 1 hour travel; you may find a taxi at the airport with no difficulty.

From Heraklion Airport

• By Bus, take a taxi or a bus to the bus station at Heraklion city (travel duration 15 minutes) and then the bus for Rethymno.
