    SPRING 1987 29 Felipe Angeles de Elena Garro: Sacrificio heroico Delia V. Galván El drama Felipe Angeles de la mexicana Elena Garro fue publicado primero por la Revista Coatí de Guadalajara y después en 1979 por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Se estrenó en México el 13 de octubre de 1978 en el teatro de la Ciudad Universitaria bajo la dirección de Hugo Galarza. Al año siguiente el grupo que la representó llevó la obra a Barcelona para inaugurar el Festival de Sitges. Elena Garro rescató de un relativo olvido a Felipe Angeles, personaje histórico de la Revolución mexicana, después de hacer una investigación del tema en que consultó los archivos de la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional. La preparación y la inteligencia de Angeles fueron reconocidos por el Presidente Madero, quien lo nombró director del Colegio Militar. Durante la lucha armada peleó del lado de Carranza por considerar importante la unión de las fuerzas revolucionarias; en 1914 fue miembro de la Convención; participó en la preparación de la nueva Constitución de 1917 y después decidió hacerse miembro de la División del Norte de Francisco Villa. Cuando Villa se retiró a Chihuahua y los Estados Unidos reconocieron el gobierno de Venustiano Carranza, Angeles se exilió en este país. Al regresar a México fue hecho prisionero y fusilado por tropas de Carranza. (Urrutia 4; Rabell 9-10) Como lo presenta Elena Garro se podría objetar la caracterización de Carranza como villano y la de Angeles como héroe redentor porque histórica­ mente puede no ser muy justa, pero sí muy dramática: acusado por el Primer Jefe, Angeles se convierte en chivo expiatorio para absorber las iniquidades cometidas en la Revolución durante un juicio sumario por rebelión.

    Los generales ya no son como antes… Felipe Ángeles, obra magna sobre la Revolución Mexicana Gerardo Bustamante Bermúdez En Varias entreVistas, Elena Garro mencionó su gran admiración hacia los militares. A Reynol Pérez Vázquez, por ejemplo, le dijo que su ideal de niña era ser ermitaña o general. “Era lo que yo quería ser en la vida. Admiraba mucho a los generales y los sigo admirando. Cuando hablan mal del Ejército Mexicano a mí me cae muy mal” (Melgar, 2002: 76). Esa admiración la llevó a construir literariamente a uno de los generales más impactantes de la literatura mexicana del siglo XX, el general Francisco Rosas, aquel que causó la desdicha de Isabel Moncada en Los recuerdos del porvenir (963). Sin embargo, una reconstrucción histórico–literaria exclusivamente sobre la vida de un general la encontramos en la obra teatral Felipe Ángeles, texto en el que la autora comienza a investigar en los archivos militares mexicanos entre 953 y 954. En 956 termina la primera versión, que después de haber sido rechazada para su representación y publicación, por fin ve la luz en el otoño de 967, cuando la revista Coatl se interesa en ella. Sin embargo, no será hasta 978 cuan- do el director teatral Hugo Galarza la lleva a escena en el Teatro de Ciudad Universitaria, que el texto de Elena Garro comienza a conocerse más en el medio teatral. En 99, Garro dijo sobre la publicación de su obra: “No la querían publicar […] Entonces se quedó por ahí, y perdí varias hojas. Luego la remendé, la recompuse un poco y se la mandé a Ernesto Flores en Jalisco, y él la publicó; si no, se hubiera perdido, como he perdido muchas cosas.

  • El General Felipe Angeles Y La Historia; a Cien Años De 1
    LECTURAS ESCOGIDAS EL GENERAL FELIPE ANGELES Y LA HISTORIA; A CIEN AÑOS DE 1 DISTANCIA. Nació en Zacualtipán, Hidalgo el 13 de junio de 1869. Fue hijo de Felipe Ángeles Melo, un coronel que combatió contra la invasión estadounidense en 1847 y la invasión francesa en 1862, y de Juana Ramírez. Comenzó los estudios primarios en Huejutla, pasó luego a la Escuela de Molango y al Instituto Literario de Pachuca. A los catorce años ingresó al Colegio Militar, gracias a una beca concedida por Porfirio Díaz con motivo de los servicios de su padre durante la lucha contra la intervención extranjera. Tímido e inteligente, sobresalió como uno de los oficiales más brillantes en una generación donde había militares como Victoriano Huerta y Rafael Eguía Lis y egresó en 1892 con el grado de Teniente Técnico de Artillería (Ingeniero en Armamento en la Actualidad). Desde muy joven fue profesor sobresaliente del Colegio Militar, de la Escuela de Aspirantes, de la Escuela Nacional Preparatoria y de la Escuela de Tiro, de la que más tarde fue director. El 25 de noviembre de 1896, se casó con Clara Krause. Fue enviado a Estados Unidos para realizar estudios de artillería; en Francia supervisó el armamento adquirido por el gobierno de México, y fue ascendido a mayor; le fue JOSÉ MANUEL LÓPEZ FLORES CONSEJERO PRESIDENTE LECTURAS ESCOGIDAS concedida la orden de Legión de Honor por los méritos realizados durante 2 sus estudios. En cierta entrega de premios del Colegio Militar, Ángeles atacó ante Porfirio Díaz al soldado arbitrario y brutal y elogió al hombre de armas apegado a la legalidad y a las obligaciones institucionales.

Sergio Martínez Torres. ien años han transcurrido ya desde aquella tarde Cdel 20 de noviembre de 1910, cuando el candi- dato del Partido Antirreeleccionista Francisco I. Madero, convocaba al pueblo de México a levantarse en armas en contra del régimen del General Porfirio Díaz. Infinidad de personalidades se presentaron al llamado y la lucha por el poder enfrentó a las familias mexicanas de todos los secto- res sociales. Transcurrida la primera etapa de la revolución maderista, la continuidad política del grupo porfirista ha- cía estragos en el gobierno de Francisco I. Madero y sus días estaban contados. La Decena Trágica marcaría el fin de la administración maderista, pero daba inicio a una de las etapas más brillantes de la historia militar de México: el Constitucionalismo. Al frente de este grupo armado se encontraron personajes improvisados en el arte de la gue- rra, como Francisco Villa, Álvaro Obregón, Plutarco Elías Calles y Francisco Murguía, entre otros.
