Think of this catalog as your personal “Ticket to Ride” and support our school in its139th year. The funds we raise at CHEER! 2019 will support construction of the new underground parking garage and athletic complex atop the same space occupied by the current gym. This is a bold project, designed to meet the changing character of our Capitol Hill neighborhood and let the Academy continue to attract young women from throughout the Puget Sound region. Meanwhile, tonight’s funded item will support the Scholarship Endowment program. Your generosity will help us generate funds for need-based financial aid this year and for many years to come, honoring the commitment of the Sisters of the Holy Names to serve young women of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds. Tonight we are honored to salute Suzie Burke, a longtime stalwart of our Board of Trustees and proud alum of the Class of ’61, with the Mother Marie Rose Award. I also thank our generous sponsors and the many volunteers for their gifts of money, time, and talent to make this evening a very special success. Bid high, people! Your tablemates are counting on you... 6 FUNDED ITEM Tonight we raise funds for the Holy Names Academy Scholarship Endowment Fund. The financial aid the endowment has provided to thousands of families is a core part of the Academy’s mission and is rooted in the charism of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary: a firm and enduring commitment to serving people of diverse backgrounds. The need for financial aid continues to grow each year. In 2018-19, nearly one-third of all students attending HNA (32.3%) received financial assistance, totaling more than $1.56 million. By strengthening the Scholarship Endowment Fund, we ensure that the funds it generates will allow future generations of young women to benefit from the outstanding education available at the Academy. Please bid generously tonight! 7 Best of Live! VIP Backstage Pass Purchase a “Backstage Pass,” and you might just end up as tonight’s golden winner!
