Materials:

 WoolFelt requirements for one ornament: o 8” wide x 6.5” tall piece pre-washed Beach Sand (or use any neutral color) o 8” x 8” pre-washed piece in color of choice. These colors were used in the ornaments shown on the cover: . Rustic Crimson . . Grassy Meadows  DMC six-strand embroidery floss to compliment/contrast the WoolFelts. (Use three strands for all stitching): o 738 to match Beach Sand o 355 to match Rustic Crimson; 3750 to match Denim; 890 to match Grassy Meadows o Contrasting floss for argyle stitching. Used on ornaments shown on the cover: 355 (on the Denim); 801 (on the Rustic Crimson); 3820 on the Grassy Meadows.  6” piece ribbon or cording for hanger (match to your and floss).  , large-eyed crewel needle, poly-fill, freezer paper and pen, iron.

Instructions:

 Trace all pattern pieces onto freezer paper and cut out.  To use the freezer paper templates, place them shiny side down on the WoolFelt. Set the iron to the setting with no steam; the iron must be dry. Iron the freezer paper onto the fabric, pressing down for a few seconds until the freezer paper sticks. Cut out the number of pieces for each shape as indicated on the patterns.  Cut one left facing and one right facing stocking from the Beach Sand WoolFelt.  Cut all other pattern pieces from the WoolFelt color of choice.  Position three diamonds on each stocking. With matching floss, make a small stich at each point of each diamond to tack down. See Figure A.

 Place the two stockings wrong sides together. With the 738 floss, backstitch around the stocking, leaving the top open.  Fold the heel piece in half, and fit over the heel of the stocking. Pin in place, then trim to fit the contour of the stocking if necessary.  With matching floss and a back stitch, attach the heel patch. On the outside edge, sew through all layers. On the inner edges, only sew through one layer of the stocking. Flip over and repeat on other side. See figure C.

Figure C

 Fold the toe piece in half, and fit over the toe of the stocking. Pin in place, then trim to fit the contour of the stocking if necessary.  With matching floss and a back stitch, attach the toe patch in the same manner as the heel. See figure D.
