20th Member’s New Year Lunch

MEMBERS’ EXCURSION RTL Road Run, on RTL139 Saturday 24th November 2018

We are pleased to offer an interesting day out in Central to mark the 50th anniversary of the withdrawal of the RTL type from London service.

In the company of four other RTLs, we will run over a number of routes that were operated by RTLs, starting with route 2 to Golders Green.

We then follow route 226 to Willesden (AC) Garage for a visit and photographs. AC was the last garage to operate RTLs, on 29th November 1968. TransportFest is now just two weeks away. This came with a variety of other items from NS (Romford – North Photos Street). It appears to be a pair of sealing pliers, used with lead © Sharon Burton seals. However, the part containing initials, a bullseye or some other symbol, is missing. There is no maker's name, merely "British Made" stamped on the side.

Maybe it was used to seal paying-in bags in the cashiers office ...

Ian Hancock, a very keen bus Steve Edmonds enthusiast, volunteered as a steward on Wednesdays for the best part of two years.
