The Scouting program is designed to give youth the opportunity to mentor their peers, build character, and learn values under the guise of having fun. These activities not only help youth reach their full potential but also build strong family bonds. The connections that scouts make with peers, parents, and community members support their emotional growth and provide an exposure to a wide variety of experiences that last a lifetime. The result is children and families who are more resilient and ready for whatever opportunities and challenges life may throw their way. Scouts truly are “Prepared. For Life”! Sea Scout Programs

SEA SCOUTS PROGRAM Sea Scouting is a co-ed, ship-based program for youth 14-20 years of age, (or 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade). Sea Scouts have positive and character-build- ing experiences while learning the time test- ed skills of a sailor. Each Sea is called a “Ship” and each Ship works with a specific vessel on an ongoing basis. Meeting schedule is dependent on the specific Ship as are the skills that the Scouts will learn. Some Sea Scouts are a part of a sailing Ship and learn fundamentals of sailing. Some Sea Scouts are a part of a motorized Ship, and learn the mechanics of that ship’s systems. Each program is uniquely suited to the vessel and her Scouts.

SPECIAL GUEST: Terry Fossum – entrepreneur, inspi- rational speaker, Scouting volunteer, philanthropist – with an important message about Scouting! “The Best Eagle Story Born in the poorest city in the United States sur- I’ve Ever Heard” rounded by gangs and drugs, Terry found himself staring down the wrong end of an assault rifle in his own back alley in junior high. In high school, his father was killed. Before he died, one of the neighbors told him “I just want to make sure you Guest Speaker understand something: Not a single one of your Terry L. Fossum boys will ever grow up to be anything.” But Terry Television Personality and his brothers had Scouting, and Scouting Self-made Millionaire changed their life. Leadership Expert Terry’s keynote tells that gripping story of how Adventurer Scouting took Terry from that background to a highly-respected Air Force officer, a self-made millionaire, author, speaker, philanthropist and winner of Kicking and Screaming on Fox, and his brother to being a US astronaut. Not just another sports or corporate story – this is a SCOUTING story. Crafted to inspire volunteers and professionals to enhance giving of time, talent and treasures, audiences all over the country have been giving rave reviews.
