Dear Senior Legislators:

I am extending a warm welcome to our 29th Annual Legislative Session of the California Senior Legislature (CSL). I look forward to working with each one of you during this Session, as we work to improve the quality of life for aging Californians.

I strongly believe that we will have a very productive Session to begin our 2009-2010 year on a high note.

Thanks to the CSL membership for making this a rewarding year. Through the hard work of many CSL members, friends, and volunteers, we met our yearly financial goal early. Thanks to the California Legislators and the Governor, a number of our proposals have been chaptered. These outstanding achievements were made possible by your dedication and hard work in addressing senior issues.

This year has seen a continuation and expansion of close relationships with other senior organizations and retired CSL members. By working together, we will be more effective in helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

It has been a real pleasure to serve as your Joint Rules Committee chair this Front row: Senior Senator Joseph A. Cox, Past Chair; Senior Senator Dee Erman, Vice Chair; year. STAY ACTIVE AND STAY INVOLVED! Senior Senator Lola Young, Chair; Senior Assembly Member Richard Wolfe, Vice Chair; Senior Senator Joanna Kim-Selby Back row: Senior Senator Kathleen Mesler; Senior Senator Carla Treuting; Senior Assembly Member Richard Dahlgren; Senior Assembly Member Julia Rosenberg; Senior Senator Anne M. Mack, Legislative Chair Not shown: Senior Senator Bud Winslow, Senior Assembly Member Billie Taylor

The Joint Rules Committee expresses its sincere appreciation and Senior Senator Lola Young, Chair gratitude to the CSL members for the privilege and honor of leading Joint Rules Committee the California Senior Legislature this year. We are eagerly looking forward to working with you at our 29th Legislative Session to “Improve the Quality of Life for Aging Californians.” Mission: To Improve the Quality of Life for Aging Californians Funded by the California Fund for Senior Citizens – FTB New Code 402 1 2 3
