Michael PUTSCH

Michael Putsch was born in Philadelphia and studied voice at the Oberlin Conservatory, the renowned Manhattan School of Music in New York and in Vienna. He studied with teachers of the caliber of Richard Barrett, John Alexander (), William Johns (Mannheim) and Walter Moore (Vienna). He was a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Competition and was awarded a prize at the International Belvedere Competition in Vienna.

Michael Putsch made his professional debut at the New York City Opera, where he sang the role of Almaviva in “Barbiere di Siviglia”. As prize winner of the Belvedere Competition he was engaged to sing at the Kammeroper Vienna . Other engagements brought him to Stadttheater Bremerhaven , where he was in the ensemble and where he sang Rodolfo in “Boheme”, Jim Mahoney in “Mahagonny” and the title role of “Werther” amongst others, followed by a fest engagement at Staatstheater Schwerin , where he sang his first Don Ottavio and Faust.

At the theatre in Heidelberg , Michael Putsch has carefully developed his voice into a spinto tenor singing the roles of Cavaradossi, Siegmund, Prince in “Rusalka”, Hermann in “Pique Dame”, Max and the title role in “Tannhäuser”.

Mr. Putsch sang as a guest at Komische Oper Berlin , New York City Opera, in Regensburg and Krefeld -Mönchengladbach .

He was heard in new productions of ”” in Klagenfurt , Linz and Innsbruck , with "Bettelstudent" and "Walküre" in Trier , as well as in “Hoffmann’s Tales” at the theatre in Kaiserslautern, with new engagement for “Pique Dame”, he returned to Innsbruck for the new production of “Hoffmann’s Tales” and “Wozzeck” (Tambourmajor), moreover, he sang “Freischütz” Max in Heidelberg .…

He has got contracts in Strasbourg for Bacchus, at Teatro Massimo in Palermo for the production of “Die Gezeichneten”, in Nuremberg for Bacchus, furthermore he sang in Regensburg and Innsbruck , Fritz in “Der Ferne Klang” in Bonn , and “Der Ferne Klang”, “Case Makropulos“, "Meistersinger von Nürnberg“, „Der Fliegende Holländer“ and „“ in Nuremberg .

Last contract till 2018/19 include Florestan, Stolzing, Don Jose, Erik, Albert Gregor in “The Makropulos Case” and Prince in “Rusalka” in Nuremberg , Bacchus in Freiburg , Wiesbaden Essen and Luzern the new production "Ariadne auf Naxos" in Bern , Tannhäuser in Moscow and "Pax Questuosa" in Leipzig and Bacchus in Amsterdam .
