In late July of 2018 we were in the final stages of soliciting Lost Boat Sponsorships and I made one final pitch to Cisco Systems as we only had a couple of Lost Boats remaining without sponsors and I has people stepping up at the last minute wanting to do sponsorships. On August 7, 2018 I received an email from Jerod Adkins, Cisco Systems Southwest Regional Manager, inviting me to come into their office on August 16th for check presentation for the $500 for the Lost Boat Sponsorship for the USS Cisco SS-290. We are extremely grateful to Jerod Adkins, Larry Laveque and the entire Cisco System Southwest Regional team here in Phoenix. It is because of local businesses like Cisco Systems, who participate in veterans’ projects, that we have been successful with our ASSM Lost Boat Sponsorship program. Thank you, Cisco Systems. L to R: Jerod Adkins, Cisco Systems SW Regional Manager Tim Moore, ASSM Charman To see a complete list of our Lost Boat Sponsors, Larry LaVeque, Cisco Systems Account Manager visit our ASSM website at; www.arizonasilentservicememorial.org or the Perch Base website at www.perch-base.org. Thank You Tim Moore, Chairman Cisco Systems! Arizona Silent Service Memorial

One of the fundraising promotions we started for the Arizona Silent Service Memorial project was the Lost Boat Sponsorship Program which was launched in August 2015. For a $500 donation, individuals, businesses and veteran’s organizations could sponsor one of the 65 submarines that we have lost since the inception of the U.S. Navy Submarine Service in 1900. I first contacted Cisco Systems in Phoenix in December 2017 and made a proposal to them to Sponsor the USS Cisco SS 290, lost on 28 Sep 1943. At the time, management was very USS CIsco SS-290 enthusiastic and supportive of the idea.
