The proceeds raised from Capers provide essential revenue to supplement tuition, and support a variety of mission-based activities. Over its 27-year history, some of the projects Capers helped financially support include updates to the campus and facilities, implementing cutting edge technology such as iPads and the Mac Computer Lab, innovative academic curricula like Singapore Math, and providing need-based financial assistance. 2 ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ 2014 Capers Committee CHAIR Candace Ravis AUCTION CHAIR Crystie Stankard COPYWRITING Susanna Barton Jennifer Hensley Julie McLaurine LOGO DESIGN Annie Pajcic STUDENT ART CHAIRS Andrea Raia Karen Trammell AUCTION COMMITTEE STUDENT ART COMMITTEE Margot Althuis Katie Borghese Anne Brittle Kellye Catlin Brandee Charles Staci Chamberlain Colleen Haley Michelle Krueger Wendy Hellman Annie Pajcic Carson Hobby Katherine Rabil Heather Mandel Andrea Raia Julie McLaurine Erin Searcy Candace Ravis Karen Trammell Bridget Roberts 3 ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ Evening Menu Catered by Biscottis Hors d’oeuvres to be passed throughout the evening Black-Jack Chicken: Blackened Chicken Satay served with Tangy Barbeque Sauce Clams Casino served with Petite Forks Petite Cheeseburgers served with warm Parmesan “Chips” Vegetarian Sushi “Cake” Topped with Wasabi Crème Crispy Crab Cakes topped with Smokey Tomato Remoulade Roulette Rollups: Grilled Asparagus wrapped with Seasoned Filet of Beef Bacon Mac and Cheese Lollipops Walk Away Crudité: Crisp Vegetables with Edamame Hummus in clear cups Shrimp and Grits Served in mini Martini Glasses Show me the Money Meatballs: Spinach and Feta with an Apricot Marinara Creamy Garlic Mashed Potato Stuffed Mushrooms Assorted Casino Themed Desserts 4 ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♠ ♣ ! ♥ ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ ♥ ! ♣ ♠ Auction Rules • Auction bidding begins at 6:30 p.m. • The auction will close by sections at 9:45 and 10:00 p.m. (see schedule in program). • Values of items auctioned are based on donors’ estimates and are not warranted by RPDS. • Each item in the auction will have an accompanying bid sheet. • Enter your bid number and the amount you wish to bid on the bid sheet (adhering to the stated minimum rise). • Bid sheets for all silent auction items must be filled in completely and legibly with your bid number. Unidentifiable bids and those not adhering to the stated minimum rise will be disqualified. • When the auction closes, the highest bidder will be considered the purchaser of the item and circled by an auction official • Proxy bids will be added during the bidding. The winning bid will be circled. • All items should be paid for the evening of the Auction. All sales are final and there are no exchanges or refunds. Items may be paid for by cash, check, MasterCard, American Express or Visa. • Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used within one year of March 15, 2014. Specific dates must be arranged between donor and successful bidder. • All auction items must be claimed by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014. RPDS will not be responsible for items left after that date. • Winning bidder numbers and bid amount will be left for viewing on each item. Tangible items may be taken with the winning bidder on the night of the event. Gift certificates will be mailed to the item winners following the event. • When a silent auction table closes for bidding, and there are multiple bidders trying to bid for a particular item, the last three bidders will be eligible to participate in a “bid-off.” Bid-off participants will make a single written bid in an amount not less than the last amount bid on the bid card. The person with the highest bid will be the fortunate one who takes home the popular item. We encourage friendly competition to allow for the bidding to be interesting and entertaining. To be fair to all auction participants, please refrain from “camping out” in front of any silent auction item. A printing deadline made it necessary for us to list additional items in the catalog addendum. We are most grateful for all the contributions. Although every effort has been made to assure the accuracy of the catalog and addendum, errors may occur. Gaming Rules (See next page for a description of the Grand Prize) • Gaming opens at 6:30 p.m. • Gaming closes at 9:30 p.m. • Jacksonville Party Company will oversee the gaming area. • The Pit Boss is the manager of gaming tables and will field any gaming questions. • Grand prize winner will be selected at 10:15 p.m. • Upon check in, each guest will be given a complimentary $100 chip. • Take this chip to the gaming table of your choice to play black jack, roulette, poker or craps. • You may purchase additional chips from your dealer using your bid number, as follows: o $100 chip - $25 o $200 chip - $50 o $500 chip - $100 • You may cash in your chips anytime during the night; however, all chips must be turned in by 9:30 p.m. • You will receive one raffle ticket for the Grand Prize Drawing for each $500 cashed in. • Take the completed ticket(s) and turn it in to your Pit Boss. • Grand Prize will be chosen at 10:15. • You do not need to be present to win.
